I was listening in to Joel Klatt and upon looking at the polls has pointed out a few things that may suggest the committee is setting up a scenario for Bama to pass UT if they both win out.
He pointed out that Mizzou with 2 losses was put 3 positions ahead of PSU. As ugly as PSU has been on offense against ttun and tOSU, they have been averaging well over 40 points a gaime vs the rest of the schedule which includes 31 on Iowa. PSU losses vs 2, 3 both by less than 10. Wins vs 8-2 Iowa 31 - 0. Other than Indiana, no other games were anywhere close to competitive. Mizzou loss UGA by 9 and 3 loss LSU by 10. Wins vs 7-3 K St and 7-3 LSU
Keep in mind Mizzou only scored 21 vs UGA. PSU who was lambasted about their offense scored 12 vs tOSU and 15 vs ttun.
Then you look at the overall picture. Mizzou is the highest 2 loss team rated and the only team rated above 1 a loss P-5 school LSU is the highest 3 loss team rated and the only team rated ahead of all 2 loss P5 schools
During this regular season the SEC was abysmal when playing all high profile games. Against P - 5 Schools + ND P12 7 - 4 ACC 10 - 10 B12 6 - 6 B1G 6 - 8
SEC 5 - 7
Winning % vs FBS OOC P12 73.4% BIG 70.4% SEC 69.7% ACC 63.6% B12 62.6%
Overall the SEC is in the lower tier this season when you look at OOC performance. Klatt summary is that they are positioning schools so that when push comes to shove and if it comes down to BAMA vs Texas, they can use their own data to determine that BAMA was clearly the better team and therefore head to head loses it's tie breaking power.

If you ignore actual on the field results and just pretend the SEC is the toughest conference every year, then this definitely makes sense If you look at Alabama's "tough SEC schedule", they barely beat a 3-7 Arkansas team. Miss St and Texas A&M have already fired their coaches. What are their best wins?? Tennessee Ole Miss LSU Tennessee and Ole Miss just got their heads kicked in. I've gotta say, the SEC bias is pretty thick this year. Close wins over crappy teams is "surviving the SEC gauntlet", but in other conferences it's "mediocre" Are Georgia and Alabama good? Yes. But don't let the media blow smoke up everyone's backside and say "oh look how tough the SEC conference is this year", the SEC got their butts kicked in key OOC games, pure and simple

lol if they do that, I'll move to Argentina. I don't think it will happen. we all know Alabama is Superman every year, but H2H still matters. If not, then why play the games? Why even schedule tough OOC games? Just schedule Ball State like Michigan and Georgia

It will come down to how they are currently playing and the eye test will once again prevail...at least in their eyes. History is clearly in favor of Bama in this scenario.

Not if they are BOTH Conf Champs, with same record, and they have a H2H game between them.

Check out the OOC opponents tomorrow of the SEC teams (ex Tenn/UGA). Why does the most raw talent density conference have to be the most cowardly conference in big time CAF ?

Still trying to figure out how the SEC is legitimately better than the Big XII?
I believe they are 1-2 vs. the Big XII BYU over Arkansas Texas over Alabama Mizzou over Kansas State
Georgia played no one OOC...LSU and Florida lost. Miami destroyed the Aggies.
Tennessee and Ole Miss beat weak ACC teams

The committee will absolutely pick Bama, despite the HTH game.

The committee will absolutely pick Bama, despite the HTH game. I think you would have to be drinking some heavy SEC kool-aid to ignore H2H
Furthermore, when you drill down into Alabama's resume, its not as impressive as ESPN likes to make people think. What looked like an "SEC gauntlet" earlier in the year has severely weakened.
The South Florida and Arkansas games stand out to me as weak performances by Alabama.
I also like how ESPN ignores the cupcake scheduling of Chattanooga yesterday lol
And of course, we're all assuming Alabama beats Georgia in this scenario. Georgia has stepped it up and looks pretty damn good lately...right now I'm wondering who could beat them.
