So now, the entire sport comes to a screeching halt so a bunch of guys in a back room can figure out who the four "best teams" are, whatever that means
I think this is the year that finally breaks the farcical four-team playoff. The committee has and always will be crap. It has been unintelligible and incoherent for 9 years.
What will they roll out tomorrow? I honestly have no idea.
If they do it the way it has always been done, it will be:
#1 Michigan #2 Washington #3 FSU #4 Texas #5 Alabama #6 Georgia
But in anticipating this outcome, ESPN has rolled out the biggest SEC hob-knobbing media garbage I've ever seen. The perception of the SEC is so off-the-charts that they can seemingly do no wrong, and are ALWAYS juggernauts that would win on a neutral field
Except the SEC went 4-6 against the ACC and 1-2 against the Big XII in 2023. Alabama LOST AT HOME to Texas. FSU beat LSU and Miami beat Texas A&M. Remember those games?
Alabama's only hope is the committee starts speculating about injuries, which they've never done....or manages to overlook a Head-to-Head loss, which is so utterly absurd it is laughable
For the record, I do think Alabama had a great season and deserves to be in a playoff. Just not a tiny four-team playoff where the only teams they can pass are undefeated P5 teams or teams they lost too

Palm has one glaring mistake - The Orange Bowl cannot have the Big Ten or SEC champ. So, it will be Georgia rather than Alabama in the Orange.

Nice points, Evil. The fundamental flaw and fraud is calling a post season 'Invitational' event a sports championship playoff. In a national team playoff the 4 winners of the national quarterfinal playoff games simply advance to the final 4 ( the semi finals). You don't need committees, just scoreboards at those playoff sites. ...no politicking, no guessing, no lobbying, no perceptions, no hype, no speculation, no opinions, no voting bullshit necessary. All other team sports at all levels (including other divisions of CF) on planet Earth 'get' this basic concept of sports championship competition.

Herbstreit arguing hard against FSU - "not the same team" For years Herbstreit has argued resume. Back in 2014, they talked about how the Big XII needed a "13th data point"
The reasoning literally changes every year.
And I do think they wanted the best matchups. Its the football version of the WWE

And Herbie didn't argue against Cardale Jones, a 3rd string QB back then.
