I know everyone is probably sick of this topic already, but I just want to add some more alternative thinking to the FSU screw job
1st off, if you had to rank just the playoff teams, how would you rank them, based on "best team"?
Personally, I'd rank them as:
1. Texas 2. Alabama 3. Michigan 4. Washington
I also think, as an FSU fan, the team we would fare best against would be Washington.
So why exactly were Michigan and Washington given a pass in the rankings? What would Vegas odds be if Georgia or Alabama played Washington? Hell, Vegas had Oregon beating Washington
We saw how well FSU's defense played in the ACC Championship.
We also saw Washington barely beat some subpar teams down the stretch: Win over Arizona State (3-9) by the score of 15-7 Win over Oregon State (8-4) by the score of 22-20 Win over Washington State (5-7) 24-21
How did it become an FSU vs. Alabama thing? Primarily because of the rankings. ESPN and the committee made it FSU vs. Alabama
What are FSU's chances to win... vs. Michigan? vs. Washington? vs. Texas?

I think we could (will) talk about this issue for YEARS!
I've heard MANY people saying it was TEXAS that should have been left out. I think our resume is as good as anyone's. In fact, I don't want to jinx us... but, I feel pretty good about our chances. Although, a lot might depend on the injury status of X. Worthy.
Before the QB injury, I thought FSU was playing as well as anyone. Their schedule wasn't the strongest, but... who's has been? I don't think the SEC has been all that strong this year, but... the ACC almost never is, especially with Clemson starting so badly. Still though, with no injury, I think FSU would have finished strong and easily made the playoffs. Then, it would have come down to Texas vs Bama, and THAT would have been a bitter pill for one of us.
This outcome pisses off the fewest number of alumni... And, to be honest... it probably does leave out the currently weakest team. NONE of these MNC playoffs have ever been totally fair. Maybe, the ONLY one was 2005, when Texas and USC were very clearly the only two deserving teams. In MOST years, having 4 teams has included the most deserving, based on our ancient standards. But, there have been several years when it was just NOT sufficient... none moreso than this year.
I would HATE this if it happened to Texas. I dislike it, a lot, for FSU. But, thankfully... this IS the end of this. ALL worthy teams will be invited from here on out. If GG is right, and FSU/ACC was involved in the delay, it bothers me less.
I think Wash, being undefeated as well, would have to be IN... if at all possible. They have a Qb, at least. A good one.
