I am a season ticket hold for the Dayton Flyers and if you ever get a chance to go the arena for a game it would be worth your while. It holds 14,000 seats and it's a sell out every game.
Back in the covid year the Flyers had a top seed team going into the tourney led by Obie Toppin, a bunch of strong 3 shooters, and a power guy Trey Landers that owned the boards.
This years version has a very similar feel. They had a couple early losses to Houston and Northwestern similar to the Covid year, but have gotten significantly better each game. Daron Holmes is Toppin replacement who like Toppin is a dunking machine and all time leader in Dayton history for dunks. Their outside shooting is phenomenal shooting over 40%. They have some stronger players but not to the level of Sanders. On the positive side all of the guards are far more versatile collectively. Everyone has the ability to penetrate and drive to the basket. The other difference is that Holmes has developed a 3 point shot and is much improved when getting the ball in the paint. I fully expect this team to roll through the Atlantic 10 and make a run in the tourney.
Thats it for now. Back to football.

I grew up in Dayton and attended many Flyer games back in the 70's. When I was in high school I sold cokes and hot dogs in the stands before the game and at halftime. We got 'paid' a hot dog, coke and ticket to the game.
Then I went to Ohio State and worked at Xavier for 23 years so Dayton slid to #3 on my list. I have to say the Flyer fans were downright nasty to Xavier fans whenever we'd go to a game at the arena. I remember they all came out at noon to cheer against Xavier when they were playing #1 St. Joes in the A-10 tournament in 2007 at the arena - their game wasn't until 9:45! Xavier won by 30 so it didn't do much good.
Anyway, Dayton fans are very proud and take basketball seriously. It's the only game in town (Wright State doesn't count) and they sell that place out every night no matter who they're playing - very impressive. I had 2 kids go to UD and they loved it.
