Did we just finish the greatest era of QB play? Probably.

I started following the NFL in the 70’s. You had Bradshaw (4 Super Bowl wins), Roger Staubach, Bob Griese, Ken Stabler and Fran Tarkenton. The 80’s were better - Montana, Marino, Elwayand Jim Kelly.
The thing is, rules have changed so much it’s hard to compare. Receivers are so much better and deeper now too.

The thing is, rules have changed so much it’s hard to compare. Receivers are so much better and deeper now too. Very true. Take Brees - 5k yards and 40 TDs and still no MVP. Most other eras, he'd be a runaway MVP.

The 4 QB’s to beat all 32 current franchises are Manning, Favre, Brees and Brady. My guess is Rodgers needs to beat the Packers. Manning and Farve were the first 2 that came to mind. Didn't realize Brees played for another team. Brady, Montana, and Esiason were the other 3 that I thought of.
