The league had GOT to do something about the officiating in thus league. They throw a flag on 3 plays out of every 5.
The game is damn near unwatchable.

Completely agree. I say this every year....and every year I watch the NFL less and less. It's become so damn sanitized and reulated. Barely feels like a sport anymore. I think it's almost like WWF pro wrestling now.....they've regulated to be CERTAIN they have offensive stars to market. Catering to fantasy football mostly because it boosts ratings.
And the product on the field is shitty. They weakened everything in camp with less hitting and fewer 2-a-days.
Screw the NFL.

I tend to agree with you guys. Seems like after every big play I'm looking for a flag. The one thing the NFL still has over CF, however is a 'real' post season championship playoff. No goofy 'selection committee' needed plus the Super Bowl trophy is awarded by the governing body of the sport. FBS football is the only exception to that in the entire sports world.

I think the Chargers had over 10 penalties which was good or the Bengals. But what really fired them up was when Rivers acted like he was going to run out of bounds and then lowered his shoulder and buried it in Dre Kirkpatrick's mid section. that led to some jawing from both sides but more importantly, I think it pissed off the Bengals defense and they sacked Rivers 3 or 4 times after that.
Back to the penalties - I've never watched a more pathetic half of NFL football than the second half of the Cowboys/Eagles game on Sunday. Completely inept football - mistakes, penalties - it looked like the Eagles were in their first pre-season game. Horrible!

I've quit watching the NFL...by Sunday morning, I'm usually football'd out. I watch football all day Saturday. I've evolved into more of a fan of the sport, and I enjoy seeing storybook seasons unfold...I hope it's FSU or LSU, but I enjoy watching other teams too (something buzzing with Notre Dame this year! check out that schedule)
The NFL seems stale to me...the divisional races suck. The NFL lacks regionality and rivalries. They need to do something about that...MOST teams in the NFL have a cross-conference regional team that would be a perfect rival (Dallas-Houston, Pittsburgh-Philadelphia, Jets-Giants), but the NFL fails to capitalize on that...and of course, too many flags ruin the game as well.

The Game Film on Sam Bradford was not pretty.... Funny, that picture looks just like the Virginia Tech back-up QB from the Ohio State game....

They should change the name to the MFL. The "Million Flags League".
No one can hit. No one can play defense. No offensive lineman can TOUCH anyone with any part of their hand... or, fart while in their stance. Can't touch a QB.
The cheerleaders are just not getting enough TV time... they're pretty much the ONLY interesting thing that is left.

Yes yes and YES. Couldn't agree more. It's stale. The environment seems like it's full of angry drunk middle aged men in the stands...vs coeds and alumni in college ones. It's WAY too overregulated. It's has absolutely no regional or division pride. Hardly any conference pride. It's Super Bowl...or failure. I know fans in NFL cities feel differently. But to me...it's stale...boring...overly commercialized and regulated...too PC...just too "not college".
