Not many prime time match ups but hereis what I took from week 2:
Thumbs up: American Conference: They clearly are competetive with the Power 5 and with Oklahoma win and a couple of power 5 victories they clearly making a statement that they need to be considered for a playoff spot. Cincinnati and Houston this weekend has turned into a huge game. SEC: After a very rough first week they went undefeated OOC. Louisville: Looks like a team of destiny at the moment. They get FSU this week.
Thumbs down: B12: Other than Texas they have been horrible. Low end teams are getting beat by very low end teams. Oklahoma vs tOSU and Texas vs Cal are huge games for conference legitimacy. Clemson reminds me of tOSU from last year. A team with a boat load of talent but just don't deliver on the field. They need to get that fire back soon or some one will get them.
Not much to go on this week. James had a nice assessment of the conferences. Clearly the conferences strength are pretty well balanced with the B12 lagging behind and the American moving up. If Houston runs the table they will have a spot at the table. Big week for the Big 12 coming up. Also some big matchups in the Big 10 with games against Oregon, Oklahoma and, ND

Louisville 5. Michigan Alabama, FSU, Ohio State, and Louisville all have HUGE games this weekend...Michigan plays Colorado as well, which might be somewhat competitive Oklahoma and Houston could bust into the top 5 with a couple of the above teams losing. Clemson looks BAD...Dabo needs to light a fire under that team fast. They get a breather this week, but the next two weeks are a road trip to Georgia Tech, and then Louisville coming to town

As I predicted, the Louisville Cardinals look like a VERY good team... especially on Offense. But, their schedule is ridiculous.
After playing Florida State (In Louisville) next week, they go ON THE ROAD to play Marshall, then Clemson.
Late in the season, they play AT Houston.
If Louisville makes it through this schedule? They'll be odds on favorites to win the CFP.

I've seen this a few times with Ohio State - Chris Gamble, Bradley Robey and probably with some of the early departers from last year - they know they're going pro at the end of the year and they play not to get hurt. They play tentative. They don't play hungry. I didn't see it with Elliott but I'm sure a couple of the guys who left early wanted to make sure their value didn't go down by having a serious injury. This year's OSU team has 16 new starters and I'm pretty sure all these guys are going to play all out because they want to make a name for themselves. It's an interesting and perplexing dynamic.

As everyone well knows I have a hard time containing my passion for tOSU. But as Doc pointed out we have a lot of very young very talented guys with a coach who knows how to get the most of them. They are are playing hungry. From a playoff perspective you I have BAMA, FSU, OSU, and Loiusville/scUM at the 4 spot with Houston at 6. If Houston runs the table they got a great chance at getting in to the playoffs. Lot of games left to play and with tOSU vs OK and FSU vs Lou and Hou vs Cin things can change quick. Predictions this week OSU, LOU, and HOU come out on top

Texas vs Cal is next week.... We get a bye this week wusses Oops... I was wrong. The BYE comes AFTER the game @cal.
Even better... Ok State will be one of the BIGGEST games of the year for Texas. Will be good to have an extra week to prepare.

Texas shouldn't take Oklahoma State lightly - they very nearly upset Central Michigan.
