Since Mickey Loomis became the GM for The Saints they have drafted eight Buckeyes.
How good is the LB Pete Werner they drafted in the second round?

I bet that scout underestimated what Joe would have done. It's hard to measure heart. I wonder what he might have accomplished in baseball. His knees would not have taken a beating like they did in football.

So,just based on this draft only, the record setting all SEC QB of the ESPN/Dr Pepper Invitational champ team would most likely have been just a back up on the NCAA Division I national Championship team had he attended North Dakota State rather than Alabama ?..............and I guess just a back up only QB if he attended , so called, "G5" BYU too ? Alabama is doing more with less.

I think this new free agency will be bad for players.

I was talking with a Cowboy Fan when he started complaining they always pick low so they never get a shot at a QB like Marino. When I told him the Cowboys passed on Marino he couldn’t take it. He called the newspaper sports writer because he couldn’t believe it. Classic line from Mike Tomlin this past season. He was talking with Chase Young before the game or during a time out and said, ‘I never want to be so bad that I’m in position to draft a player like you.’ If I can find the clip I’ll post it. That is funny.

Looking back at the 1983 draft - "the QB draft" 7 QB's in 1st round...this year probably has 5, maybe all 5 go in the top10 or top 15 picks? Also, 7 HOFers in that first round in 1983. I was talking with a Cowboy Fan when he started complaining they always pick low so they never get a shot at a QB like Marino. When I told him the Cowboys passed on Marino he couldn’t take it. He called the newspaper sports writer because he couldn’t believe it.

Cool stuff. In 1961 the Chicago Cubs offered $50,000.00 to an 18 year old to sign a contract. An amazing sum in those days but his mother wanted him to go to college. His name-Joe Namath was he a pitcher? That was a LOT of money in 1961.

Alabama is the only CF program to claim 3 Pro HOF QBs : Stabler, Starr & Namath.
But Hero, why do you think the SEC can't produce HOF quality WRs ?......other than a guy who played 85 years ago The B10 doesn't have this problem ( 5 Pro HOF WRs ) Speaking only for Alabama Fans we try to console ourselves by looking at SEC and National Championship Trophies.

I like white guys. I like Ozzie Newsome. Alabama continues to turn out some of the best. Watch the draft next week and you will see more. Ozzie is enshrined in Canton as a tight end. Seriously, can you think of one single pro FB HOF wide receiver that played SEC football since Don Hutson ? That's pitiful. SEC ! SEC !
There is a bit of a difference between a draftee and a Pro HOFer.
I am an Alabama Fan. I think we have done our part.

Guys I loved who could make a pretty good sub on your team. Dwight Stephenson C-Bear said he was the greatest player he ever coached regardless of position. Woodrow Lowe LB-There is a small list of players who have been three time ALL AMERICANS. Don Hutson WR-He could do anything and play both ways. I think it was SI that called him the first modern receiver.
Has there ever been a Pro Hall Of Fame wide receiver produced by the SEC other than Don Hutson ? ......a white guy that played 80+ years ago ? People don't realize what a barren waste land of Pro HOF quality wide receivers the SEC has been.
