Strange isn't it how some leaders actually believe that they can reform tyrants? Obama thought that he could reform the Castro brothers, and other dictators by killing them with kindness. I fear that Trump has the same delusion with Putin. However, I don't have a problem with how he is managing Duterte, who is a thug and a wannabe tyrant. The U.S. can ill afford for the Philippines to align with China, and that is clearly the direction Duterte is headed, I doubt if many young people today have any idea what the Yalta Conference was all about. Roosevelt sought to diminish Churchill and elevate Stalin. Shameful. The agreement divided Europe, which precipitated four decades of Cold War.

They're not "best buddies".... Duterte is a lunatic. I suspect Trump despises the clown. But for now, he has strategic value. Trump is not afraid to attempt to buddy up with him, as long as he has value for us.

I really hope Trump stands strong on this, and completely withdraws from the Paris Climate Accord. It's one of the MAIN reasons I voted for him. Lesser men would have already caved.

He is already waivering on the horrible nuclear weapons development agreement with Iran...[ Why would you say this? A big part of this trip to KSA was to try to organize Sunni Arab countries AGAINST Iran. Trump is very clearly anti-Iran. nypost.com/2017/05/17/trump-wants-to-create-an-arab-nato-in-the-middle-east/He's arming Saudi Arabia.. to do battle against Iran. I doubt they could win such a war. But, with our help? And, the help of other countries in the Region? Maybe.

But, with our help? And, the help of other countries in the Region? Maybe. Good question. Things were much simpler during the campaign, when Trump was unencumbered with the reality of governing. He could easily get away with declaring that he would rip up the Iran deal. A funny thing has happened since he has been Inaugurated. He has learned that he can't simply rip up the deal, otherwise he would have done so. The "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)" was not a deal between John Kerry and the Iranians. It is a deal between Iran and the 5 permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, Germany and the European Union. The European nations are primarily motivated by greed, with the potential for untold billions in new trade opportunities. As usual, they were more than willing to kick the can down the road in terms of strategic security. The best hope is that Iran will egregiously violate the agreement. Russia and China have their own reasons. Trump is far from powerless to act affirmatively. The U.S. can impose sanctions on Iran. The U.S. can impose sanctions on any nation that trades with Iran. The U.S. can use any number of pretexts to attack Iran militarily. But, every option available to Trump has a big time downside. Trump hasn't taken any of the number of initiatives that are open to him. Why not? Because he has discovered that what he seemed to be very simple is actually very complicated. How do I know that Trump is waivering? Because he is doing nothing. He is proposing nothing. He no longer talks about ripping up the agreement. He is consumed with reality. He barely mentions Iran. As for Saudi Arabia, it has a well-equipped modern military. It has the ability to effectively do battle, but a war with Iran might imperil the Royal Family, and could devastate the oil fields. Even if Saudi Arabia dominated the war.

Even if Saudi Arabia dominated the war. Iran would CRUSH Saudi Arabia in a war... maybe not quickly, but.. surely. Saudi Arabia has the best weapons that money can buy. But, they lack a key ingredient: People. Iran has PLENTY of those. Europe, India, Russia and China are all doing a great deal of commerce with Iran. The growth rate, and potential there is high. Business is Easy, because... they pretty much need everything. The problem is: Iran's government continues to support anti-Israel terrorist and Anti-American causes at every turn. Giving them money is pretty much like paying for the rope to hang ourselves. You're right... getting out of this stupid deal with them is not so simple. I've always known that to be true, no matter what Trump said on the campaign trail. Until/unless Iran shows themselves to be non-compliant, it's difficult for us to just walk out of the deal. It would be GREAT if Iran started behaving like a modern country. They would be accepted into the "normal" Western world in a flash. Sadly, they don't. I don't think Trump is fooled.

There's not really a "good way" to be a troll. You are big into childish labeling. You and Trump. Go for it. But, I won't call you names. I won't label you. I won't accuse you of being a liar. I won't accuse you of approaching insanity. I'll stick with the high road, and debate ideas.
