My wife's aunt is a Mother Superior, and my wife is in Rome for her aunt's 25th anniversary as a nun.
After some sightseeing in Vatican City, she and a friend stopped at the nearby Caffe Sant Anna. She complained to me that they were charged 33 Euros for two non-alcoholic drinks and a small bruschetta, and asked me to write a bad review on Trip Advisor.
I didn't have to. I checked Trip Advisor, and of the 529 reviews, 475 gave the restaurant the lowest rating: 1 for terrible. Lol.
Has anyone ever seen anything to compare?

I don't know... but, a few weeks ago, I was told it would cost $37 for a CLUB SANDWICH to be delivered my room at the Holiday Inn Newark. I told them where to put their club, and posted a VERY negative review on Holiday Inn's website. I've been a "Spire Elite" member at HI since they started this level, Platinum for the 12 years before that. My review drew a LOT of notice. Three apologetic emails from hotel management, and a phone call from a Holiday Inn Marketing VP. Seems, they had a Newark employee jacking up prices... to prevent room service deliveries. It worked.

I remember the days when I used to travel like you do now. Often as not, I opted for room service over heading out to a restaurant or even a drive through. I don't recall ever enjoying a room service meal. I do recall the joy of waiting an eternity for cold, limp fries.
