Which means, Fantasy Football season has 'officially' started. YEA!!!!!
I got a good start reading it on the plane ride to Houston. Next week, I start a three-week around-the-world jaunt. I should have it all memorized by the end of that trip!
The NFL has many on-going problems. Ad-buys are DOWN from last year. The quality of the game is suffering due to very limited practice time and inconsistent officiating. To me, the game has never been the same since the advent of free agency. There's just TOO MUCH movement of players. It's too hard to build any team loyalty. But, it's still the best game in town.
I'm looking forward to watching a few rookies this year.
Will Corey Davis be the super-star that Randy Moss was? I don't think so. Moss was a physical FREAK. Davis is just very good, and played in a great system on a great team in a weak conference. I will be very interested to see who is the better pro: Davis, or Mike Williams? Or, someone else?
I also can't wait to see Dalvin Cook running with the Vikings. I think he is going to exceed expectations. (Which, are already high)
I'm pretty worried about Deshaun Watson. Sure, he played a lot... and won a lot. But, the NFL game is VERY different, especially for Qb's. I fear the Texans have blown yet another draft pick. They don't have a great track record in this regard.
Also can't wait to see Leonard Fournette. Jacksonville has beefed up the O-line for him. I think he's going to see a LOT of carries. Jacksonville has also invested HEAVILY in Defense... for the second year in a row. Last year, they actually regressed... is this this year they finally turn it around and compete? It wouldn't shock me. Well, I guess... it actually WOULD shock me, a little... I mean, come one, we're talking JAGUARS here! LOLOLOL
Denver defense returns, pretty much intact from last year. They should be a lock to be good again.
The Patriots seem to have actually IMPROVED their roster from last year. What Super Bowl champs do that? It's crazy. Will be fun to see Brady working with Brandin Cooks. It's been a while since Tom had a legit WR, still in his prime. They need Gronk back though. I also think Gillislee will be a steal at NE. Although, owning a NE RB is usually fantasy hell.
So many unanswered questions... Man, I LOVE Draft Preparation season! :-)
