“We won’t wait for the battle to be in Saudi Arabia,” he said, without elaborating on policies. “Instead, we will work so that the battle is for them in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia.”

If there is one thing the Saudi Royal Family is afraid of, it's fundamentalists in Iran.

The Iranian Supreme Leader has an equal fear of Saudi fundamentalists, i.e., the Wahhabis. Iran is predominantly Shia and Persian, with Sunni majorities in the four corners. Saudi Arabia is predominantly Sunni and Arab, with a Shia majority isolated in the eastern provinces. My guess is that you are onto something with respect to the Saudi royal family. If sounds like something the Saudi foreign minister, or possibly the defense minister would say.

It was the newly named "Crown Prince" of Saudi Arabia....the 31 year old son who will become King when the current sick old man dies.

It was the newly named "Crown Prince" of Saudi Arabia....the 31 year old son who will become King when the current sick old man dies. Sounds ominous Low oil prices are killing the welfare state of Saudi Arabia. There is much unrest amongst the people. Nothing like a little jaw-boning to get the oil price up. Of course, firing a few shots could work even better. I hope this guy isn't dumb enough to give it a try. Saudi Arabia has a LOT of really nice weapons.. the best money can buy. But, they would have a hard time winning any war. Their industry is driven by oil, and chemicals... which, can be taken out pretty easily by any opponent. They could inflict much pain on Iran. But, it likely wouldn't turn out well for them.
