Swinney not pleased with the offense yesterday. Kelly Bryant still having trouble getting the long ball down smoothly - could be some unrealistic expectations and DW4 bias here too.
Defense playing lights out still...could be why the offense is struggling too?
Swinney said Clemson's biggest position question mark coming into fall camp was punter. That's a first world problem.
Hearing good things about Higgins - they say he may be the best receiver ever at Clemson - has qualities of Nuk, Sammy, Martavis and Williams all rolled into 1 WR.
Also about Travis Etienne from Louisianna at RB. Had a beast of a TD yesterday.
With Clemson being loaded at WR, there is some talk that Ray Ray McCloud may move from WR to CB. McCloud and Renfrow will compete for catches at WR position, and I don't see Dabo demoting Renfrow after the 2 years he has had at Clemson.

So far I'm hearing....
- the defensive line is more talented than the D-lines Greg Schiano had while at Tampa Bay. (They do have 6 DE's that are absolute studs) - they're 3 deep at every position - Kevin Wilson's offense is going to average 50+ points a game - JK Dobbins is pushing Mike Weber (who was 1000 yard rusher last year) for playing time - As many as 8 underclassmen could declare for next springs draft - The current recruiting class being assembled for 2018 will be the best class in Ohio State history

Practices for Texas have been MUCH more physical than in the past. Hard hitting. With that came a rash of injuries, some to key players... but, none season-ending. Mostly concussions and sprains.
Execution has been a little sloppy. But, Hermann keeps praising the "effort". RB is looking to be a bit of a concern. Chris Warren III has missed much of practice (Concussion), but is back this week. Behind him, we just have a couple of supposedly talented Freshmen.
Defense has been showing a LOT more speed than before.
Herman has the team working a LOT more on Special Teams. Texas had 6 kicks blocked last year. Definitely impacted the season. THAT, should get fixed this year.
Kentucky suffered a HUGE loss this week. Their starting Left Tackle, Cole Mosier, tore and ACL. Out for the season. He's their best O-lineman. A 4 year starter. Depth is not a word heard often in Lexington. This one's gonna hurt.

Ohio State had two kicks blocked in the 4th quarter on successive possession against Penn State that gave them their lone loss in the regular season and cost them the BIG title. Unfortunately, they would have still played Clemson in the semi-final and probably lost 31-0!

Based on how it turned out, I guess it probably didn't matter.

The defense is ahead of the offense - as typical during fall practices.

Defensive backfield looks to be a strength. Plenty of talent in the front seven. Some veteran OLinemen are being pushed by younger players. Jalen Hurts has shown progress with deep passes. RBs are deep and talented. Special teams look strong except for place kicking.

Physical practices and effort.
If the players are putting in the effort, then they are buying what Herman is selling. That's good news!

Strong tried to be more physical than Mack Brown, but... we still couldn't tackle. Apparently, Herman has taken physicality to a whole new level. They HIT EACH OTHER... a lot in practice. And, they TACKLE! At full speed. I think we've been soft for awhile.

One of Bama's former players in the NFL said Alabama's practices were tougher than the NFL. I'm sure that will endear him to his coaches.

One of Bama's former players in the NFL said Alabama's practices were tougher than the NFL. That's actually a real problem in the NFL these days. The last Player's Agreement severely limited practice time. 2nd team pleayers don't get many reps at all. It REALLY affected the quality of play last year.... especially at the beginning of the season. I expect this year to be even worse.

Too much arm tackling and trying to strip the ball rather than textbook hit, wrap up and drive backwards.

Georgia Tech has dismissed its leading rusher, sophomore Dedrick Mills, for a violation of athletic department rules, the school announced Friday.
Mills was named to the preseason All-ACC team after leading the Yellow Jackets with 771 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns as a true freshman in 2016.
This is a big blow for GT and PJ.
