Maybe, the story that will define this storm came this morning: An 18-month old child rescued, just moments before she was washed away under a bridge. This child survived, somehow, clinging to the floating body of her drowned mother. I don't even know how that can happen. I have to believe, this mother's spirit was not willing to leave this child alone. Not until, she was safe. Harvey has been a NIGHTMARE storm in an area so wide, it would take 5 hours to drive across it, at 70 mph, with no traffic. It's a HUGE area. In the next few days, we're going to be hearing more and more about the damage that has been done. It's unfathomable. We will not see the end of this for a while. Water is now being released and more flooding will follow. I pray for every one. I am encouraged by some who have a public voice and have already donated and challenged others to do so. I think charity makes God smile. I want to see him smile one day.

2 explosions at the Arkema Checmical Plat in Texas early this morning. CEO said there was no way to prevent it, given the damage and current conditions. Based on the threat assessment, officials had already declared a 1.5 mile evacuation zone around the area. It's a peroxide plant. Peroxide is used primarily used to initiate polymer reactions. It HAS to be refrigerated, or it will auto-initiate. Apparently, they had two back-up systems, but... they were all rendered useless by the severe flooding. It's a bad situation for the plant, but... not a health threat for the surrounding area. Basically, all the chemical was consumed in the blast.

All right. I tried to leave gracefully. What did I get for my benevolence? Not a single kind word. Not one. For years, I have provided this forum with enlightenment. And, not a single kind word did I receive.
And, Bevo, predictably, went on a rant. No, not me, he says. Then, he proceeds with a totally illogical defense of his position that excessive government controls over the construction of new refineries is a good thing. Bunk. Since no one else is going to come to the defense of the free market, I have no choice but to return and stand up for what is right.
Some free advice: don't mess with the Lone Ranger, and don't be inconsiderate of FHF.

I was worried about you. It was crazy...I never really expected something like this to happen to Houston It pretty much rained for over 3 straight days with constant flash flood and tornado warnings. Just the scope and amount of water that came down is crazy
