Pac12: 12 - 1 (3-0 vs P5) Probably with the most impressive start of any conference although the 2 top dogs had unimpressive wins beating Rutgers and West Michigan in very competitive games. Most impressive win was UCLA and overomiing a 34 point deficit.
BIG 10 - 2 (2 - 2 vs P5) 4 games vs P5 teams and they were all top 25 against Florida and 3 BIG bottem feeders. Rutgers was competitive with Washington and Purdue went down to the wire against Louisville while Maryland put up 51 on Texas in a win. Michigan did look pretty good other than there back to back Interceptions for 7. tOSU offense looked alot like 2016 in the first half against Indiana but in the second half they turned it on and Barrett seemed to look much more comfortable.
SEC 12 - 2 (3 - 2 vs P5) Alabama clearly is the best team in football and proved it once again. They are just more physical and have more talent than anyone they will play this season. I don't see anyone getting in their way when it comes to the playoffs. LSU blanked BYU in an impressive showing and Tennessee showed some signs that they will be a factor in the East. I did not see the TAM game but when you blow a 34 point lead you have to look at what decision were made to allow that to happen. Sumlin will be on the hot seat all season. Florida has one of the most inept offenses I have seen from a power team in a long long time. I thought McIlvane was an offensive guy but other that the brief moments when they had Will Grier the offense has been pathetic
ACC 10 - 4 (2 - 4 vs P5) 3 P5 top 25 games. GT should of could of but didn't do it against Tennessee. VT had a nice win over WV and Grier. FSU not only was manhandled by BAMA but lost there QB as well. No longer are they the clear cut favorite to win the ACC and severely hurt there playoff chances. Clemson will certainly get a chance next week to see where they are in a big one against Auburn. Louisville almost laid an egg against Purdue but Jackson did put up some Heisman type numbers. Overall not a good start from the most dominating conference in 2016.
B12 - 7 -3 (0 - 2 vP5) Not a good start and unless they can get some wins the B12 may be on the outside looking in. Baylor's loss to Liberty will hurt especialy if they are competitive in the B12. Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma have a chance to turn things around next week but if they lose then they will need someone to run the table to be a player in the CFP. I thought WVU and Grier looked really good even though they lost. I can see them be a player in the B12 as the season unfolds.
