This is what I see or project for the College Football Playoff and the NFL Conference Championship games and Super Bowl:
College Playoff
#1 Alabama vs. #4 Penn State #2 Ohio State vs. #3 Clemson
Championship: Alabama over Clemson
Rationale: Same as last week. I am holding tight on this...Notre Dame is definitely coming on strong though, and I think people are underestimating Oklahoma a bit. Penn State definitely needs help to make this scenario, but I am counting on Notre Dame and Oklahoma losing again. Every week I am feeling a little less confident in that though. Clemson should be worried as well...they at least need Oklahoma to lose.
NFL Playoff
NFC Championship: Dallas over Seattle
AFC Championship: Jacksonville over New England
Super Bowl: Jacksonville over Dallas
Rationale: Same as last week as well...I'm not moving Philadelphia up at all until they show me they can beat Dallas. I don't buy Minnesota or New Orleans at all. Houston is actually playing some really good football, but they are going to have to claw and scrape their way back into it.

Clemson just needs to win and take car of its own business, and they will be in regardless of what OK does.

NOT so fast (in Lee Corso voice) I think if [Alabama/Georgia winner], Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Clemson all win out, Clemson is going to have a hard time trying to fit into the playoff... I would rather see Clemson in, and somebody tell Notre Dame to freaking join a conference, but I don't think that's what will happen...Notre Dame will move up the ladder and the media will love them and sing Irish praises. Oklahoma will move up eventually if they win out, because they hold the trump card over Ohio State. Ohio State will get in because their only loss will be to Oklahoma, and they'll most likely be beating an undefeated Wisconsin team in the process. So where does that leave Clemson?? You need to buy some Miami Hurricanes gear and root like hell Notre Dame loses. Oklahoma and Ohio State could still go down as well.

ND will only have 11 wins.
But you are right, we might test that rule this year.

Notre Dame has privilege in college football...it would be quite a statement if the committee cited the fact that Irish have no championship game to play in as a reason for leaving ND out Would they tell ND to go join a conference? They pretty much told the Big XII to get a championship game....

So before the season I projected Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma State - all 4 are still very much alive. Oklahoma State could just about put themselves in the Big XII championship game with a win over the Sooners on Saturday but they'd need to follow that up by traveling to Ames the next week. A tough 2 game stretch. They also didn't play a very difficult non-conference schedule. But beat Oklahoma, Iowa State and a possible rematch with OU or TCU and that might do it. ND would need to lose but that's certainly possible. I guess we'll see!

If the committee follows their template today, the top 4 should look like this:
1. UGA 2. Bama 3. ND 4. Clemson
They are only supposed to focus on what has already happened to tis date, not what it might look like in December...

Oklahoma State looks like a very weak 1-loss team....I think they fall to the bottom of potential playoff teams Honestly I could see Penn State jumping them. I would even put Washington in over them

You know they will have Alabama at #1....I would be shocked if they didn't Alabama is undefeated and passes the "eye-test" I think it will probably be: 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. Ohio State 4. Miami or Notre Dame

There was a huge hubub over the lack of a championship game....the "13th data point" Oklahoma had no problem in '15 though A Championship game would have made sense if the Big XII expanded

I have no doubt that Alabama is a top 4 team but Georgia has better wins on their resume to date. Alabama should be ranked top 4 but if they're going to rank based on body of work then Georgia should be at the top. This, of course, will shake itself out since the teams are on track to play each other in the SEC championship game but if you're going to play by a set of rules, all teams should play by the same set. I personally think a lower ranking would benefit Alabama and Saban would probably prefer it - I guess we'll see.
