I bid on the Buckeyes before the season started... I liked their chances. They disappointed me. But, that's just money. I feel for you guys, who are great fans.
Now that the season is over? I find it hard to believe this team is NOT in the CFP. They have so much talent. How in the world do you lose by 31 to Iowa, in November? Looking ahead to MSU? It was just an inexplicable loss. Seems like OSU has had one of these the past three years now. How did they lose to Penn State last year? MSU two years ago?
Oh well... by current Texas standards, it was a GREAT year. And, a win over USC will put a nice cap on the end of the year.
Hopefully, better QB play next year.

No doubt Buckeye fans are disappointed. The general consensus in Buckeye Nation was that if we win in a dominating fashion against Wiscy our chances were good to be in. I tuned out after the announcement so I have no clue what the committee said but here is my take on the year. As much as I love Urban Meyer his loyalty towards JT really hurt there chances. Haskins has shown signs that he can move this team and stretch the field but was never given the chance. If Haskins was given the opportunity and he delivered it would have been much much more difficult to leave them out. OSU dominated Wiscy in every phase of the game with the exception of QB play. Bad interceptions and missing wide open receivers downfield keep this game tight. Had JT had just a decent night it would have been a 20 point game.
The problem with JT running the offense is that when we get down, we typically go to some read option that ends up with a QB run or we through some sort of bubble screen. In games where the Jimmys and the Joes are in favor of tOSU then we can get by on sheer athleticism. This offense likely would struggle against the Clemson and left tOSU open to a shellacking had they gotten the invite.
Over the long haul I do believe Urbans loyalty to JT could hurt him when it comes to recruiting. When these High Schoolers go to evaluate OSU and see that in some cases the best players may not always be the ones on the field then this could lead to them looking elsewhere because these 4 and 5 star recruits want to play right away.
Looking at the committee decision to taking BAMA over OSU in many ways it was one that they couldn't get wrong because you could take any selected data points to justify your case. They could have just as easily picked OSU and the BAMA crowd would be sitting where tOSU is and be saying if we didn't sqeuak by MSU and then lay an egg to Auburn who got waxed in the CCG then we would have been in. For the most of the year I tuned out the ESPN pundits which has greatly help me control my extreme dislike for the SEC, but this weekend I tuned in and could not believe what some of these idiots were saying. I think David Pollack inherited the I hate tOSU gene and I am fairly certain I heard him mention the 31 point Iowa loss at least 2 times each segment he was on. He was also sating the On Wisoonsin chant.
