Was anyone else foolish enough to watch that entire game last night? If so... I pity you.
I HAD to watch, I was walking a Fantasy Football tightrope that worked out the best way possible. My wife and I won #1 and #2 seeds, respectively in my fun neighborhood leagues. I secured the 5th playoff spot (with the highest overall point total) in my money league. Next week, I get paired against the guy who owns Gronk! So, that's good...
But, MY LORD! What a pitiful game to have to watch. This time, it wasn't the players as much as it was the refs. It was just ridiculous. They literally could not run two consecutive plays without a penalty. Two REALLY EXCITING TD's got called back (one for each team) because of LAME... I mean LAME violations. They kind where you watch the replay and say, "well... MAYBE there was a violation??". It was AWFUL!
And then, of course.. the players had to get in on the act at the end. More cheap shots, fighting, general thug behavior.
The NFL is in BIG trouble... Goodell is a BIG part of the reason why. And yet, they seem hell bent on renewing his contract with a big raise. It's incestuous, it stinks, and the petals are falling off the bloom quickly.

It's incestuous, it stinks, and the petals are falling off the bloom quickly. We went to the game last night. We left in the 3rd quarter when the rain started, the Bengals were up 10 at the time. AJ Green scored a third TD that was called back on a holding call by Gio Bernard that was about as ticky tack a call as I've ever seen. I didn't see Pittsburgh TD that was called back. The Bengals and Steelers are incapable of playing each other without turning into thugs. It's embarrassing. It's pathetic. It makes you not want to watch the NFL. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they really should separate the teams from the same division. Every time they play, they embarrass themselves and the league and it's always in the national spotlight. What the guy did to Burfict last night was disgusting and I know, it's not as if Burfict hasn't had his share of personal fouls. But to stand over a player like that guy did and taunt (Burfict always takes the opposite approach and acts like he didn't do anything) was an example of everything that's wrong in the NFL - many players don't respect the position they're in. They make a mockery of the players that made the NFL what it is. They think they're entitled to act like asses. I hate it. I remember watching the NFL as a kid - the players were professional for the most part. The only thing professional about many of the players today is they're paid. Other than that, professionalism is a concept they just can't comprehend.

The Bengals are thugs...AJ Green got thrown out of the game when they played the Jaguars I won't deny that the Bengals have their share of thugs, as you like to call them. Every team does. But beside the episode with Jalen Ramsey - who is a punk, thug in his own right - AJ Green has been a model citizen for the Bengals. He's won recognition for his work with the Friars Club which is a local organization that allows kids from under represented areas to play youth sports. He lost it on that one occasion - I think the combination of Ramsey's never ending smack talk and the frustration of having a mediocre QB to throw the ball to him the frustration level hit the boiling point. Go ahead and call Pacman and Burfict thugs, I don't think AJ is.
