Absolutely anytime an entire game is played without one Holding call either way.... the refs didn’t do their jobs. It was pretty obvious yesterday, in BOTH games... that the refs were just NOT going to be calling many penalties. One of the reasons more than 100 points were scored in the OU-Georgia game was: Both lines were getting away with MURDER. There was blatant holding on almost every play. The D-lineman pick play was a mystifying non-call. I will admit that. I think the refs were confused by the BIG bodies. Maybe that's the genius of Saban's design? :-)

I also like how he purposefully lost to Auburn, because he knew he committee would put him in at #4. (the #1 ranked team has never won the CFP.)

If you recall, I speculated about that, just BEFORE the Iron Bowl game. Dangerous game, that one. I don't think any coach would do it on purpose. But, it made some sense. Bama had PROBABLY already done enough to make it to the CFP, win or lose.... as long as Ohio State beat Wisky. And, who didn't think that was going to happen?

I noticed BAMA start the second half so strong and then began to make multiple uncharacteristic mistakes. I was astonished and just decided it was auburn's(playing great the second half of the season) day. The way it played out could not have been better for BAMA had it been planned. More than one person has told me Saban masterminded it all. Would he do that...sure. Did he do it? I guess we will have to wait for the book.

It was all part of Dabo's diabolical, long-term hegemony plan. Now he get's an extra 2 weeks to focus on recruiting.

If this game is anything like the Rose Bowl, this may be the most exciting playoff yet! Turns out it was much like the Bama FSU game.
Clemson's D played lights out. The offense and special teams just absolutely screwed them and constantly put them in some unfavorable situations.
Defense only truly gave up 10 points to short fields. Hats off to Venables and that defense. They held Scarborough to 24 yards on 12 carries, Hurts to 40 yards, and Harris to 77 yards on 19 carries, which is damn impressive. Hurts only threw for 120 yards. If the offense had a heartbeat, that is a very winnable game.
Bama would start the possession on their own 46 and our defense would already be behind the 8 ball. Their longest scoring drive was 46 yards, or something close to it.
Bama came to play, and they didn't respect Clemson's ability to get the ball vertical. They basically jumped everything short and it worked well for Bama. Bama just physically whipped our OL all night.
Bama was the worst possible draw / matchup out of the 3 teams for this version of the Clemson team and how they operate.

Bama just physically whipped our OL all night Mostly this, yes... Bama came to play. They didn't make dumb mistakes, like they did in the Auburn game. They got a few breaks, sure... but, once they got em, it was pretty much OVER cause: The Tigers could not move the ball. The difference in talent level looked almost as big as in the Auburn-UCF game. (Auburn clearly had more 'talent'. But, seemed to have no clue how to use it)

Not converting a TD on the Hurts fumble to start the 3rd quarter was tough. Dabo was pissed at everyone on the sidelines.
Early in the game, Bryant made the wrong read on the jet sweep by not handing to Feaster, plain and simple. If he hands it off, Feaster scores.
On the flukey INT, Clemson again had the call they wanted, with Ray Ray on a post with a single high safety. Most of the night, Clemson's RT set out a welcome mat. Carman will take that spot next year.
Some nights you just get whipped, and the breaks don't go your way. Keeps you humble.

Some nights you just get whipped, and the breaks don't go your way. Keeps you humble. Texas has had 4 YEARS of that...We've had all the "humble pie" we need. Hasn't worked all that well on me though! I pine for the days when we were losing to Bama. Of course, they didn't whup us.. they just got lucky!

Weird stat of the game:
Both the Clemson and Alabama defenses missed tackles by 2x their season average in this game.
Clemson 24% vs. 12%
Bama 21% vs. 11%
