I don't know how you measure that performance so I don't know how you can definitively say it wasn't good. The air went out of the building when the VT QB went down and they were going to have to punt....losing 21-17....it seemed like the offensive coordinator for OSU then played not to lose for the next couple series. When he opened up the offense to bury Tech they scored pretty easily.

What I'm getting at is we don't know what would have happened had Brewer been healthy and stayed in.....maybe Ohio State was about to blow the doors off VaTech anyway....but the injury made them play not to lose for a couple series.......it's hard to take much away from the game after the injury.......but unfortunately injuries are a part of the game. In response to your question, yes they should stay 1# because we have no clue what to take away from that game, and they are still the defending champions.
The bad part is we won't really know is this is a great team, until the Minnesota and Michigan State games, because this schedule is squishy as hell, and I'm a Buckeyes fan!

I thought OSU fans didn't make excuses.

Pretty crappy when 42 points and almost 600 yards of offense isn't good enough. Oh yeah, and 3 starters didn't even play. They had 4th and 5th string receivers in the game. You tell me who's going to stop that team.

Oh... I replied on the duplicate thread... I have money bet on TOSU this year. I feel BETTER about it now than I did yesterday. OSU just crushed a game VaTech team.. on the road. The ONLY team they lost to last year.
Again, I ask... WHO had a better performance this weekend? A&M? Yea... right. Let's elevate the Aggies to #1.

It was a competitive game until the Hokies QB was injured.
