In a season really lacking great story lines, we are back to the same old. Tyson-Holyfield again, aka Bama-Clemson
I think they are on an inevitable collusion course. No one is going to beat Alabama on the way there. They are simply too good on both sides of the ball.
Michigan is gaining steam, but I just don't think they have the athletes to contend with Clemson or Alabama.
Notre Dame is going to get steamrolled by one of these teams most likely
I predict Alabama crushes Michigan in the first round, and Clemson crushes Notre Dame
Then we will get Alabama-Clemson IV. Can Clemson beat Alabama? I don't know...LSU is a pretty damn good football team, and they just got blown out at home.

Bama and Clemson certainly look good but scUM had a statement game against State Penn. I do think that they have what it takes to compete against Clemson and Bama. Notre Dame I think would get shellacked. Oklahoma has the offense to put up numbeers but if you can't stop the other side you are going to be in some trouble.

Michigan is like an LSU or Georgia...they are good, but they don't have the athletes Clemson and Alabama have
Alabama is pretty much a semi-pro program. They would crush Michigan...they would probably beat Ohio State and Michigan combined. Hell, they might beat the entire Big 10 combined lol
Clemson is only close because they churn out NFL talent now and Dabo is a good coach. I still don't know if they have the guns to beat Bama this year. The separation we saw between LSU and Bama is telling
There is no parity in college football. This is the decade of Tide football

LSU again this year all smoke and mirrors. One trick pony, good defense, same inept offense.
How in the world did this team (again) end up in the top 10/ top 5.
Why? Because pollsters don't like to be wrong. Put there so Bama would have a top 10 / 5 win. A phony-hyped battle.

Clemson, with Lawrence, can beat Bama. With Kelly Bryant, nope. Dabo knew this, and after seeing 4 weeks of play, he made the switch.
In order to beat Bama, you must be able to get vertical.
The dink and dunk shit LSU tried failed because it plays right into the strength of the Bama defense.
The different story line this year is that Saban has the best offense he's ever had, even if the defense is down and injured.

In CJ's totally objective ranking system, LSU was #4 in the week before playing against Bama.
Bama was actually #5, so.... the system isn't always that great at being predictive.
Before you throw shade on CJ's system, you should know... Clemson was at #1.

Definitely wont throw any shade that way. I like CJ's approach.
#1 seems generous.

That amazing Bama offense.....courtesy of great recruiting, of course, but also a product of OC Locksley, the Towson State man.

Both are great teams that happen to be playing somewhat mediocre schedules.
Bama’s schedule toughens at the end. I’m not sure Clemson’s does.

LSU got where they were by wins over Miami, Auburn, and Georgia. They pummeled Georgia

Clemson has Duke and USCjr to close out.

If it does come down to Bama vs Clemson, with all due respect to our resident Tide and Tiger fans, I'll be watching Netflix the night of the NC game. And if the final 4 are Bama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan I won't be watching the semi-finals either.
