It's the calm before the storm. With Rivalry Week a week away, many of the top teams have breathers on the slate for this weekend. You know it's a down week when Gameday is setting up shop in Orlando for the Cincinnati/Central Florida game. Fortunately the SEC has some 'killer' match-ups which we can chew on.
Looking more and more like Bevo may be closing in on another free lunch in Cincinnati over the holidays!
Here we go....
Pittsburgh -6 @ Wake Forest. Pitt is actually in the drivers seat for the right to get the shit kicked out of them by Clemson in the ACC Championship game.
Syracuse +9.5 vs Notre Dame (at Yankee Stadium). Win this one and Notre Dame is a step closer to clinching a spot in the playoff. Playoff contenders in the PAC 12, BIG 10 and Big XII will all be Syracuse fans this week.
Cincinnati +7.5 @ Central Florida. Gameday will be in Orlando and this will be an opportunity for the Golden Knights to shine in front of a primetime, national audience.
West Virginia -5 @ Oklahoma State. Can the Cowboys ramp up the offense two weeks in a row against a top 10 team? Can WVU match the 700+ yards Oklahoma piled up on OSU last week?
Iowa State +3.5 @ Texas. I believe both teams have a shot at making the Big XII championship game, the loser is eliminated.
And the SEC gauntlet...
UAB +15.5 @ Texas A+M. The Blazers' Bill Clark is my pick for national coach of the year but Jimbo Fischer is the $7 million man.
Liberty +28.5 @ Auburn. Anyone know the team name for Liberty?
Idaho +39.5 @ Florida. Vandals actually dropped down to the Division 1 FCS level so they were a perfect fit for the Gators this weekend.
UMass +44 @ Georgia. This should get the Bulldogs ready to play Alabama in a couple weeks.
The Citadel +51.5 @ Alabama. This would be like letting me start at the 51 1/2 yard line in a 100 yard race against Usain Bolt. I actually think I might be able to cover 48 1/2 yards in less than 9 seconds, not sure if the Bulldogs can hold the Tide under 51.5 points.
