I would HATE that... It would make NCAA football in to BBall.
One long exhibition season, followed by a one & done tourney for all the marbles.
No thanks.
Agreed. Because, like you said, it wouldn't Clemson v Texas, but Alabama versus UT-Chat and Clemson versus Grambling. Talk about meaningless. Inclusive and "fair", but meaningless. So, like the NFL where you can do 10-6 in one division and miss the playoffs but 6-10 in another makes it? No thanks. That’s not college football.

According to Sagarin, Ohio State has played 2 top 30 teams this year. 2Way to schedule. I can’t wait for next weeks discussion of scheduling. Good grief You Ohio State guys want to discuss the fact that you have played the same number of top 30 teams as Louisiana Tech? You are the ones doing this right, aren’t you? You guys have been spoiling for this so rip me up.

So, that trumps all I think it’s time to go to the top of the mountain, the very paragon of virtue, THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. Drop the trousers, get out the yard sticks and let’s see what ya got. Let’s beat this horse...all schedules, all the time.

Hey, I’m just saying things should be equal in conference scheduling. There’s nothing to gain in the games some teams are playing this weekend. I really hope Ohio State beats Michigan but I’m not sure I want to see them in the playoff because I don’t think it would end well, for sure. And The Ohio State University is the name of the school - it’s on the seal. And OSU has played 3 ranked teams, TCU was 15 when they played😉. And....Oh Yeah!!! ? Just talking football my friend - no need for rulers😊

You weren’t impressed by those big wins over Oregon State, Rutgers and Tulane? I mean, that’s probably an inch and a half right there ! 😉

A team gets to slide through 8% of its season without danger of a slip up ( with just one of these things). You can custom schedule your way into post season games, including the ESPN-Dr.Pepper Invitational. The SEC...the most blatant abuser of custom scheduling, can custom schedule an entire 25% of the season with cream puffs and then have its teams post a 2-6 or 3-5 conference record which will earn them a post season opportunity ( being 6-6 or 7-5). Its just playing the mythical system smartly. It's partly why FBS football is more of an exhibition sport than a championship sport.

I suspect Kentucky is going to have trouble with their chosen "cream puff"... Middle Tennessee.
Last week, the Cats looked morose... like they'd given up on the season.

There are more ways than one to beat a dead horse. How do you beat a dead turtle? Let them lead the entire game and beat them by 1 on a missed 2 point conversion - good lord.

Had it gone against the Buckeyes and Maryland converted, there would have been a meltdown of epic proportions as there's a video making the rounds where the Maryland tackle was actually 6 yards down field on the pass blocking the OSU safety who was supposed to be covering the receiver - clearly ineligible receiver downfield. It would have been a fitting end to a bizarre game. The guy probably could have ran the ball in or they could have handed it to the RB who was averaging 17 yards a carry for 290 yards.
