This is a HUGE game for the Horns. Both teams do still have a shot at making the B12 CCG.
All Texas needs is: A win here... (and next week against Kansas) and West Virginia (Playing at home) to beat Oklahoma. That could very easily happen.
But, it won't be easy. Iowa State has the best defense (Statistically) in the Big 12. Ok... yea, I know that's not saying much. It means they only allow 440 yards per game... but, still...
Iowa State will be without their best RB for the 1st half of the game. He got flagged for throwing a punch in the 2nd half of the Baylor game. Not sure if Texas star receiver, Colin Johnson, will be able to play. He missed the Tech game. Is a "game time decision" this week. He really opens things up when he's on the field. But, we have other top notch receivers that can fill in.
If things fall right, we'll get a chance to play West Virginia in a re-match. Hopefully, with a bunch of defensive starters returning who missed the first WVU game. Could get interesting!

Or.... Texas could still make it with a win here and a WVU loss this weekend to Ok State! In that case, it wouldn't matter who wins the WVU-OU game. We'd be in either way.
But first... we have to handle the Cyclones.

It should be interesting to see if the Horns can play some D.
If the defense does perform, does Herman have a plan to take time off the clock with a lead.

It should be interesting to see if the Horns can play some D. If the defense does perform, does Herman have a plan to take time off the clock with a lead. I’ve been watching his recap shows. He refuses to even entertain the idea that it might be the wrong strategy to try scoring a TD on every play. I’m hoping he’s just arrogant, and not stupid. Jury is out.
