There are some good choices here...and we are talking modern history, not 1898 Penn...
No particular order:
'05 Texas '04 USC ‘18 Clemson '18 Bama ‘13 FSU ‘01 Miami ‘95 Nebraska '99 FSU
I think from a standpoint of just demoralizing everyone they played it's '95 Nebraska. But that style of play wouldn't fly in 2019.
'13 FSU's offense was off the charts.

1897 Penn ( 15-0 ) was even better than 1898 Penn

You can add LSU 2019 to the list I would also add Alabama 2011....when I try and think of the best defenses ever, I really think of three programs. FSU, Miami, and Alabama. FSU 1996 was loaded, but they lost in the rematch with Florida badly. Alabama 2011 was loaded.

"All Time" means ALL OF THE TIMES Of College football history.............150 years worth, NOT the last 15 years. The last 15 years of college football history represents 10 % of CF history. Genuine 'all time' lists must represent 100% of the sport.
So glad you used "modern History", cpa......but what is the official starting date of "modern CF history" ?

Even if you go back pre-1900, for me at least, doesn't change my list very much, if at all. Size and speed have changed so much over the year....no way Army or UT or 1897 Penn hold up against the athletes of FSU, MIA, Bama.

That last sentence is so silly. It's degree of dominance vs CF in any team's time. There is no other way to measure dominance... no time jumping in any reasonable all time lists. 60 years from now somebody might make an all time list and when somebody mentions Clemson or LSU from back in 2018/19 the list maker might use your 'logic' and say " oh those players back in 2018 couldn't hold up with the bigger faster athletes of today (2079) ...and he'd be right but dumb. How all time CF team comparisons work, cpa, is :
1905 team vs 1905 competition and 2005 team vs 2005 competition. Compare the dominance levels then rank.
Besides, if 1905 Yale played 2005 Texas, the Yale players would be about 120 years old. That, not quite fair is it ?
