Spots in the Playoff. I think judging from the quality of play this year, this is no noticible drop off between the Big 12&Big 10 and SEC. The SEC might have slightly more upper teams, but everyone outisde Mizzou, Georgia and Florida in the East is very mediocre......as well as the West you have to two to three elite teams and a bunch of mediocrity. If you were going to consider the Georgia Bulldogs as a possible at large, even if they did not win the SEC.....you should consider Ohio State and Wisconsin both getting in, especially if they split. With the eye test I would take both of those teams over Georgia right now.....but I also believe both teams right now are, legitimately top 4-5 teams in America. Ohio State could make a case by winning the Big Ten East alone....saying the media considered Georgia as an at large....and the Big Ten East is significantly better than the SEC East this year. It will be interesting for me to see, if ESPN advocates this though considering they have a tv contract with the SEC and don't have one with the Big Ten.

I rarely understand what you're talking about, Kent... Maybe because I NEVER listen to anyone on ESPN?
UGA was over-rated, and they got exposed. They still have three very tough games remaining. IF.. and, that's a BIG IF, they'd run the table, they would have deserved consideration for making the CFP, even if they had a close loss in the SEC CCG. But, it would depend on what other schools did. They wouldn't beat out ANY undefeated P5 Champ. But, they'd be pretty competitive with any other 1-loss team, Champ or not.
But...they DIDN'T run the table.
Everybody plays all their games, THEN we decide.
ESPN isn't the only network with games... FOX and NBC show some games too. ESPN just owns the RIGHTS to televise the CFP. They don't run the thing.

I think the playoff might be
LSU/Alabama winner vs. Oklahoma Clemson vs. Ohio State/Wisconsin winner

Ill be interested to see if they change their tune at all. Shouldnt get fired up about it....but those jokers imo have some influence with the selection committee I think

Ohio State will most likely have to beat Wisconsin twice to make the playoff. I guess they could lose on October 26 and then win in the BIG Championship but then they’d be at the mercy of the committee. Georgia got a mulligan a couple years ago, Oklahoma got a mulligan last year - they’re not going to give the BIG a mulligan.

- they’re not going to give the BIG a mulligan. Oh please.. cry me a river. The B1G got a mulligan in the FIRST year, and they'll get more when they deserve it.

Can't specifically prove anything but I feel pretty confident that ESPN can get what it wants from the DPI committee.

Do you think Wisconsin and Ohio State would beat Georgia? I do....and ive heard conversation all year Georgia shoukd be considered for a second slot if they lost the SEC title game. HELL I THINK if Notre Dame quit shooting themselves in the first half they may have beaten Georgia! So why not consider Ohio State and Wisconsin? I think both are top 5 teams

ive heard conversation all year Georgia shoukd be considered for a second slot if they lost the SEC title game. Any conversation that starts like that is PRESUMING that UGA went undefeated, and then lost in the SEC title game. Look at their schedule, IF that happened? Yea, they'd be due consideration. They would be ULTRA competitive with ANY OTHER 1-loss team in the country. But... a funny thing happened on the way to the forum. The Gamecocks ended the dream. UGA's ONLY chance to make the CFP now is, to win the SEC title game. Even that wouldn't guarantee them a spot if the end up with 2 losses... which is very possible.
