I think ESPN (Disney) got exactly what it lobbied for :
A killer great TV Clemson v OSU DPI match up ( thank you ESPN ) plus the softest path to a Dr Pepper championship for an SEC team.
I don't care who gets invited or what the seeding is but note that OSU finished with 73 first place ratings out of the 85 systems in the Massey composite. LSU got 11
ESPN sets the narrative and the committee just tags along.

If LSU had struggled, and Ohio State won big, they would have been reversed I don't think Oklahoma and then the Clemson/Ohio State winner is a soft path. In fact this has been the most clear cut playoff ever
