I've got tickets to a sporting event too, Hero.......... a Texas Rangers @ Philadelphia Phillies game in late April plus some touring around the Brandywine Valley area of Del/Pa. That trek could be in jeopardy It's all trumps fault :-). I wouldn’t be worried unless you are in poor health. Crowds should be thin, best time to go.

Our FIRST thread last year about Covid.
I thought then, we were “over-reacting”.
Now, I’m SURE I was right.

Our FIRST thread last year about Covid. I thought then, we were “over-reacting”. Now, I’m SURE I was right. And how are you sure you are right? This really requires data we don't have... what would be the outcome if we did not "over-react"?
500,000 deaths is quite a lot, but we also don't know what that death toll would be had we not "over-reacted". Maybe if we did nothing, the same 500,000 people would have died. Then we would have over-reacted. Maybe 5,000,000 people would have died? Then we wouldn't have over-reacted. But that is in the unknown. How can you be so sure?

Independent of political differences, whenever a sentence begins with "Fauci says, cautions, warns, etc.", I ignore it. I ignore it not because he power-drunk and destructive (he is); I ignore it because he is simply incorrect. He and the other "public health experts" have been incorrect since day one.

I just had lunch in an El Toro Tex-Mex place in Baytown. If Covid can spread in a restaurant, then this place should be a 'super-spreader'. It was PACKED. People wear masks walking in and out, but NO ONE sitting at a table does. Must have been 150 people in the room I was in. The states that locked down super hard just haven't had significantly better covid response. This virus went where it wanted, maybe at slightly different pace. But, NO ONE stopped it from spreading. Not in the US anyway. So, all (or most) of the economic and social pain has been for naught. We still don't know the full cost. Not even close.
