On April 20, 1985 my wife and I were married - hard to believe it's 35 years! This will probably be the most unique anniversary celebration but we do have plans to go to Germany and Austria in August for 12 days - we actually went there on our honeymoon - hopefully we'll be able to make the trip, I guess we'll see. I don't know where I'd be without my wife but I'm pretty sure my life wouldn't have turned out nearly as well as it has.
I think the best thing I can say about my wife is she lets me be me. She never tried to change me and she encourages me to do what I want to do. She keeps our lives in order and instilled solid values within our 3 kids. I've been asked many times 'how did you pull this off' and truthfully I don't know but I'm thankful everyday that I did. We were joking this morning how after 35 years I think we're going to make it. It's been a magical ride which I hope continues another 35 years!

Congrats man! It's a blessing, ain't it?
We'll be 37 years in July. My wife definitely TRIED to change me. And, she was successful is several way where I actually WANTED to change. But, she also has accepted me, even with all the flaws I couldn't fix. She's hung with me, even when I gave her plenty of reasons not to. There is no way I could have accomplished half of what little I've done without her support. She has always been my biggest cheerleader.
When I was laid off from Dow, 25 years ago, we met with a company provided counselor. After meeting with each of us, she told me, "She is the weight that keeps your balloon from going ppppfffffttttt!! Off into space". I knew, instantly, how correct she was. I like to joke that she is the "lead weight that kept me from rising to the top". :-) But, I know the truth. Without her, I would have destroyed myself a 100X over. I look forward to spending the rest of my life thanking her.
Sure hope you're able to make your trip!

Strange anniversary - we got take out from Outback and played Gin Rummy with our daughter who is home from Minnesota during the quarantine. What the heck, it was a Monday night anyway!
