Our daughter has been home since late March. Had it not been for the pandemic we would have seen her at Easter and that would have been it. It's been great having her home - she set up her office in our basement and has stayed very busy throughout the past couple months. We all take turns making dinner and she always tries something a bit more challenging than grilling hamburgers - her meals have been awesome. Her company is having everyone return to working in the office on June 8 so she plans to head back home on Sunday to have a week for the transition. The bummer is of all the places in the country guess where she lives - Minneapolis. She's actually had some co-workers and friends tell her she might not want to come back until later next week. What a mess. She says she lives about 15 minutes from the epicenter of where all the violence and protests are taking place but its still a bit unnerving to know she's heading back to a place in such turmoil.

I have really enjoyed seeing my granddaughters during the daytime, during the week. The youngest is now 10 months old and is really starting to be a lot more interactive.
Such a shame what is happening in Minneapolis. I fully understand the reason for the rage. What I don't understand is: how does stealing a George Foreman grill and burning down the only stores in your neighborhood make it any better?? I also don't understand why the officer who killed George Floyd has not been arrested? I saw plenty of probably cause.
I had my own run-in with shitty cops, many years ago. They exist. But, I've also been friends with a number cops and seen that the sense of civic duty that drives them. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to do that job. God Bless the ones who are trying to do the right thing. How crappy do things have to get for a cop to completely lose his sense of humanity. THAT is what the video showed: 4 cops who no longer saw this man as a human being. Sad.

Update" I just got a news notice: The "knee killer" has been arrested. Has an autopsy report been released? I really don't know what will happen when that comes out. I have a feeling the city of Minneapolis will be paying a huge chunk of money to the family of George Floyd. The officer deserved to be arrested. He had plenty of opportunity to ease up on the guy. He was handcuffed and wasn't going anywhere. And he had to see people taking pictures and videos. Just staggers the imagination.

Family's says asphyxiation, county says heart attack. I expect a 3rd or 4th autopsy may be performed. All this does is make it easier on the defense.

New autopsy today show George was high on Fentanyl at time of death, and had evidence of crystal meth in his system.
You won't hear that reported a lot today.
