Texas A&M is quietly putting together a run at the playoff
Their only remaining tough game is Auburn. Win that game and they will be hovering around the #4 spot...maybe at 5 or 6
They really need Notre Dame to lose twice (or Clemson to lose again). And they need Miami to drop a game. They might also need Oklahoma State to drop a game.
^^all of the above could easily happen! If ND slips up at BC or North Carolina, and loses again to Clemson, they're out! Okie State still play Oklahoma and possibly a Big XII Championship
Don't underestimate Jimbo just yet!

A few things ..... Ohio State still to make looks a little off...... defensively and offensively this team isn’t ready to take on ‘Bama or Clemson yet and I say that as a Buckeyes fan they took a little step back this year, but it’s still early..... That said only in 2020 could Indiana, Northwestern and Maryland be a combined 8-1 and Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska be a combined 2-9 the Big Ten is tipsy turvy this year. -Wisconsin when they play is still the Big Tens second best team - I absolutely agree with David Pollack for this year and this year only the NCAA should expand the Playoff to 8 teams........... due to the low number of games and conference only contest if makes selecting the 4rst best team almost impossible. If you expand to 8 this year you can include BYU, Cincinnati, an undefeated Oregon, A&M and perhaps a one loss Wisconsin - a lot will be made about Trevor Lawrence not playing..... Clemson didn’t lose that game on offense..... Clemson needs their defense to heal up quickly. I’m not sure how much better Lawrence would have played better than that kid...... but the kid played damn well

The defense was where the absences and injuries have killed us.

That's basically what Rutgers did on Saturday - they must have done nothing but practice trick plays for a week. And OSU has been vulnerable to that throw back play on kicks since they played TCU a couple seasons ago. Penn State actually looked like they were trying to do it but something backfired. Anyway, the Buckeyes ran up a 35-3 halftime lead and basically snored through the second half while Rutgers ran trick play after trick play - they even had a tackle score a TD.

I think the following works. 1 loss or less ACC SEC and BIG stay above TAM #4 ND Loses to Clemson and has only 1 loss #5 Undefeated P12 #6 1 Loss otherOSU confernce champ will trump aTm #7 1 Loss aTm #8 0 Loss Cincinnati
The one I am not sure about is Cincinnati. If they somehow run the table will they be given a shot? Based on previous selections there chances are slim to none. Of spots 4 to 7 I think aTm has best shot or running the table.

This is going to sound ridiculous I'm sure, but should Liberty go undefeated they would deserve as much a look as any from the group of 5....
They would have 3 wins over ACC teams (Syracuse, VT and NC State; all on the road). They would also have a win over Coastal Carolina which could be undefeated when they play. Not saying they would deserve to be in but certainly have as good a resume as any group of 5 team.

Texas A&M plays LSU this weekend...a game that LSU has dominated since the Aggies have entered the SEC
If the AGGies want the playoff, Jimbo has got to beat the Tigers this weekend

A+M needs Clemson and ND to both lose before the ACC championship game. They need Alabama to beat Florida in the SEC title game. They need all PAC 10 teams to lose before their championship game. It would be helpful if UC would lose but I think they would get picked over the Bearcats if both teams win out. I think OSU and Northwestern should win out to the Big Championship game but an NU loss and then win over Ohio State would definitely help A+M. I don't think the Big XII should be a worry as their teams all have at least 2 losses.

I think at this point all Texas A&M needs is a Notre Dame win in the ACC Championship
Aggies on the brink this year
