Conservatives are posting non-stop bullshit. Plenty of people on the left debunk plenty of it, but just look at this thread. But you debunk one, and they just ignore it and posts the next bullshit from a twitter feed.
The country by popular vote rejected Trump and the republicans. The republicans have lost 7 of the last 8 popular votes. The system leans heavily in their favor with the electoral college, and yet they still lose to an awful candidate. Instead of changing, they just say it is all rigged and illegal, trying to yell louder.
Bevo, what you are feeling is cognitive dissonance. You are smart and do your research, and you see the state of conservatism as an absolute shit show of lies and idiotic leadership. This is a result of main stream conservatism is fundamentally broken and never caring about facts in the first place. This is just a natural regression of conservatives making shit up because it goes along with the "conservative" values.
But you still want to place some blame on the left, claim they aren't helping. You want to think it is an orchestrated propaganda blitz. It can't be conservatism that is wrong. It must be something else, despite you seeing how awful mainstream conservatism has gotten. Giving up thinking about it and ignoring it, rather than reassessing your position, is a much easier way to manage that cognitive dissonance.

It’s interesting that Bevo assumes that this is a mass propaganda campaign of disinformation. This takes blame away from the idea (conservatism) and puts it on some unknown evil force.
To me, it is the Internet. Been using it for decades, and information has always been there and it was up to the user to fact check. It just has never been as popular or easy to use.
Now it has become ubiquitous. Everyone is using it. Even the old, less educated and religious. And Conservatives are made up of various groups. Generally older. Generally religious. Generally less educated.
In my experience older populations are less likely to use technology correctly. Religious people by definition are more likely to take things on faith without evidence. Less educated people will likely do less research to come to their beliefs.
Combine all three demographics, and a free speech platform that reaches billions and is based on views and not facts, and you get echo chambers of what sounds good rather than what is true. Add in a president who is seemingly all of the above, and you just add fuel to the fire, and a justification of theses beliefs.
This technically is a conservative leaders dream. They have been convincing folks who have most of their income on a W2 that rich investors need huge tax breaks, with no evidence that is benefits the voter. It has worked for years and been the lynchpin of conservatism.
Now it seems like the train has completely run away. An ideal based on manipulating the elderly, religious and uneducated has worked, until you get idiots that believe everything in their twitter feed and will raid the Capitol because the echo chamber said the election was rigged.
I don’t know where we go from here. The good news is that those demographics seem to be shrinking, and conservatism will need to take a different form to succeed. The electoral college has artificially made modern conservatism last beyond its shelf life, but even that has been overcome.
Hopefully a new wave of conservatism comes, which includes limited government and fiscal responsibility. And that limited government is limited on things like gay marriage, abortion and drugs. I.e people are free let them be free. That is the limited government conservatism that I want, and would proudly support. .

Thinking about it, this message board is a perfect example of the problem.
We have Russian bots who spam this site. However the biggest source of propaganda on this site is TigerCPA posting links from his twitter feed, not Russia bots. If EvilVodka shared links to what makes him so positive that Trump will remain president, he’d be an even better source of propaganda. But he knows that you can’t get fact checked if you don’t post sources, and you don’t have to change your mind if you don’t get fact checked. Genius.
This misinformation campaign is grassroots, based on gullibility and ability to spread whatever you want, not some organized attack.

I don't want to be too rough on Evil because he said he'd come and protect me or rescue me when the Don trump Jr, MAGA capped, proud boy, army comes after me (us). Can any of you trump supporters tell us what jr. meant when he said they'd be in our backyards coming after us (non trump penis suckers) and "will have fun doing it". Thanks

Of course, it's too early to tell if the decision to remove Trump from Twitter will end up being one of the worst decisions in American history.
At this point, I'd say it's a strong candidate.

I assume you mean waiting so long was the worst decision? What about conservatism yearns for private companies the freedom to do as they please?

I assume you mean waiting so long was the worst decision? What about conservatism yearns for private companies the freedom to do as they please? Nothing in Trump's speech incited a riot or called for violence. So, this is nothing but political theater, as usual. Same with removing Parler, there's no specific risk to the public, just ganging up on competition. Congress can impeach a president for eating a ham sandwich, or wearing a tan suit (but that would be silly). That being said, Congress has been known to do silly things, especially when accompanied by campaign contributions. I always remember the fact that in dictatorships no private company can silence a sitting president. Although Facebook, Twitter and Amazon are morally corrupt, we should be thankful for their ability commit suicide.

Who needs Russian bots when you have people like TigerCPA? The president tells people to go fight like hell, go to the Capitol and stop the steal, that they are allowed to go by very different rules.
And they go to the Capitol, they fight like hell, going by what they assume are very different rules, and people end up dead.
Regardless of what Trump said, he spoke and his followers went and raided the Capitol. You can defend the intent of his language, but the results are clear. And he shouldn’t have a voice any more.
Seriously you are making my point. Trump is indefensible at this post. Private companies are doing what conservatives defend that private companies should do. Yet you’ll keep on the propaganda train, proven to not do basic fact checks on your own sources...the ideal propaganda spreaders).
This is not some orchestrated propaganda campaign. This is the sad result of conservatism alienating everyone but the most gullible.

"I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."
Transcript is very clear. He was NOT inciting violence. POTUS did not direct any action other than protest march. "Peacefully & patriotically." Marching on The Mall has a deep history in American politics.
Any other interpretation is subjective. Consistent with the past 5 years, all of his statements have been taken out of context and misconstrued to be hateful.

It's an attention getter.

Consistent with the past 5 years, all of his statements have been taken out of context and misconstrued to be hateful. He said multiple times that the process needed to stop. He wanted his minions to stop the democratic process. How has conservatism gone so wrong? Bottom line is that Trump spoke, told his brainless followers that they had to stop Biden from being confirmed, and that is what they did.... temporarily. There is no value on Trump maintaining a public voice, or leadership of the country for the next week. You are defending the president telling people to stop the democratic process. I guess at some point once someone gets duped and fooled so badly, it is too embarrassing to admit they are wrong and it is best to just keep doubling down.

I guess the conservatives here that supported the idea that the election was stolen have backed way now that it got real. Props to those who haven’t backed away, those conservatives that ignore reality in the face of facts to back a view point. Definition of conservatism IMO. Staunch conservatism. Conserve the status quo despite facts or reality.
Turns out when you back the view that the election was stolen, then people actually act upon it. Where is the support of the riots of the Capitol? If the election was stolen, shouldn’t these people be praised?
