I know Ruptured Duck was no fan of the Japanese. I always presumed he had some personal experience with them that must not have been pleasant. But, I heard a story today that might give him a chance to reconsider.
Apparently, the Japanese won a big game last night against the US? The WBC (World Baseball Championship??) The final at bat was a pitcher named Otani who struck out Mike Trout... both apparently play for the same MLB team? I don't know about any of that. That's not "the story" that interested me.
"The Story" was: In an earlier game, Mike Trout hit a home run. The fan that caught it had someone take his picture with the ball. Ok.. that's cool. BUT THEN>>> He handed the ball to guy next to him, so HE could take a picture with the ball. And, THAT guy, handed it to person next to him, and they took a picture. Apparently, they passed the ball ALL THE WAY around the stadium, taking pictures with it. And yet, they carefully made sure the ball made it back to the original person. OMG! Can you imagine that happening in the US? Not a chance. If you did somehow get the ball back, no telling what would be written, or smeared on it.
Wow... I guess the Japanese are not THAT worried about Covid anymore?
