Earlier this week I wrote about my daughter and her trip to Cleveland for a job interview. Well she called on Friday to let us know she got the job! She was 1 of 20 hired into Parker Hannifin's technical sales group. Starting in July she'll be in training for 12 to 18 months and then she'll be given a territory to work after that. The job will be 60% travel. During training her housing and car will be covered by the company - not a bad way to start out. So we're all excited for her. I hate for her to be 4 hours away but my job takes me to Cleveland a number of times per year so I'll obviously make sure I have time to take her to lunch or dinner while I'm in town. Now all she has to do is finish her final semester and she'll be off the payroll! This house is going to be pretty empty once she graduates and our son gets married. Now my wife is talking about all the home improvements she wants to make with the 'raise' we'll be getting when our daughter graduates. I may be in trouble!

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Thumbs up for her. As for you, better get out the work clothes.

Well done Doc!!! I can only hope to make a similar post 10 years from now when my 14 year old daughter makes her way to find out who she is.

Congrats Doc. I'm not surprised. As I told you last year, after seeing her resume, I'd hire her in a second. Her ONLY flaw was, being closely related to a rabid Buckeye, ;-)
Hope she enjoys the travel. I suspect she will, at first anyway. If she tire of it, there will be plenty of opportunities for her. The first job is the hardest to get.

Sales is where the money is. Fresh out of college I took a sales job with American Hospital Supply -- straight commission and I paid my own expenses. Lots of driving and long hours, but I earned a small fortune.
