Bama has had 20 plus players have entered the portal with Caleb Downs (S) the latest to join the ranks. Bama also has had 6 decommits as well. Welcome to the middle of the pack because the Bama ship has sailed.
TCUN (formerly known as TTUN) is not far behind either. They their QB1 and RB1 going to the draft. Jimmy H seems very likely to pull a Pete Carroll and jump to the NFL as the TCUN program can probably be best compared to the titanic. Once Jimmy makes the move and the NCAA gives them their 2 to 3 year post season ban, players will be fleeing from Ann Arbor at a record pace.

Something they can brag about to their NFL teammates. Saban's retirement was inevitable. This is the NCAA's fault for allowing an extra 30 days when a coach leaves. Creating a slaughterhouse.

I wanted to say something about being kicked when I am down, I will have to be honest.
I no longer feel emotionally connected to the game which calls itself college football...at least not nearly to the extent I once felt. I will keep up with Alabama and hope games are won. College football is such a miserable facsimile of the game I grew up loving I can't even see them as the same game. The amount of passion I can muster about issues regarding this miserable mutant that calls itself college football would not amount to a poot in a tornado.
Goodbye college football my old friend.
Enjoy what you can with my blessings. I have moved on.

Enjoy what you can with my blessings. I have moved on. I tend to agree with you. It’s not the same game I’ve followed since 1969. I’ll continue to follow the Buckeyes but there’s no loyalty anymore - when McCord said his leaving was a business decision I almost puked 🤮. Players transfer 3 or 4 times and think nothing of it. The COVID year has players sticking around for 6 or 7 seasons. Amazing they’ve been able to destroy the traditions of college football in such a short period of time.

Likely BAMA, tOSU is one of the teams that truly benefits from the new age of college football. Money is not generally in issue from meeting the going rates of NIL contracts. Then with the portal, our players that don't start go to lesser teams and other teams players that become stars transfer to tOSU. That being said I can't stand it. It is getting more and more like college BBall where you had all of the one and dones come and go so quick that your team never gets a chance to build an identity.

At Christmas, I was given 2 new Longhorn shirts and a hoodie. My son bought UT swag for all of his daughters. I'm going to be invested in it for a few more years. This is a dark time for Bama. But, they will rise from the ashes... faster than anyone expects. When they do, I suspect your interest level will bump up a bit. But, let's face it. The game we all grew up loving is long gone.

Here is rundown of FSU in just the last month... >Left out of the playoff >Suing and getting sued by the ACC >Getting blown out in probably the most meaningless bowl game ever >Verbally attacked by sports media for a month >Bringing in massive transfer portal group of players >NCAA trying to bring a hammer down on FSU for NIL Most of this is off-the-field drama...I really feel like I need a timeout from college football. This is the first year I felt glad the season is over. It's made me appreciate the NFL alot more, and enjoy the simplicity of just sitting down and enjoying games without the absolute chaos that college football has become

Gene Hackman stole the show as Val Kilmer (not to mention Michael Biehn) did in TOMBSTONE. I had a friend I called TWO GUNS because of that movie.

I think Texas has picked up about 4 or 5 Bama players/recruits.
We just added Wr Isaiah Bond. We already had a TE, Lb, DB, tackle and a Rb.
Doesn’t feel right. 😕

Buckeyes cleaning up as well. Just landed Caleb Downs.
Next season tOSU, Texas, UGA, and FSU feel like shoeins for the playoffs. Oregon and Clemson feel like locks as well.
TCUN, BAMA, and Washington will all be on the outside.
