What can be done?

I just enrolled in Medicare. The coverage is incredible. It looks like it will be the best coverage, for the lowest costs I’ve seen in 30 years? No wonder we’re going broke.
I say… keep taxing young people at increasing rates… to keep it going another 20-25 years, at least. Or, until I pass. After that ? You can pull the plug on it. 😉.
Medicare has copied the fatal flaw of medical insurance that finally got fixed…(at least a little). The patient sees no cost. Need to require co-pays of some sort for every procedure. That makes people think about whether they really want to have the treatment.

On an infinite horizon, they are underfunded by a finite number? So at someone point we reach steady state, expenditures are equal to revenues?
Problem solved, we just have to wait it out until year 20infinity.
Maybe to speed it up a bit we should remove the Social Security tax cap.
