Somewhat related answer to my own question : Saban's record as an SEC HC was 249-45. 60 of those 249 wins came against FCS and G5 teams or a whopping 24%.....yep, 1/4 of LSU's and Bama's wins under Saban have been vs 'rent-a- win' scheduled competition. Therefore the point (sort of) : when assessing these 'toughest places' to play type lists don't forget to consider the scheduling ideology of the coaches and teams that play in those 'tough' places.

He also has 30 wins against Top 5 opponents and 104 against Top 25 opponents. 42% against ranked is not bad. |

For sure but typically having 2, 3, or maybe 4 really tough games a year makes it easier to prepare for the challenging ones.
