I've heard SEVERAL "government officials" on Tv this morning talking about this topic: NOT ONE has stated that it was "Definitely the Russians". And this includes several Democrats, like Chuck U Schumer.
The DNC PUT THEIR CHEESE ON THE FRONT DOORSTEP. No one should be surprised that some rats came and ate it.
Comey, in his report, said it is likely that "multiple entities" accessed the information. So, how do we know it was JUST the Russians?
And, how do we know it was ONLY the Russians who released the material?
This is the biggest bunch of non-sense. Huffing and puffing... all meaning nothing, except to distract from the information that was actually IN the emails.
Hell, Donny Deutsch on MSNBC was hyper-ventilating about "Trump's defense of the Russians is in the area of being treasonous".
I mean, really? Treasonous? These guys are totally unhinged. Half truths. We don't know that only the Russians were involved in the computer hackings or providing hacked emails to WikiLeaks. In fact, most agree that other "state actors", including China, were involved in actual or attempted election-related computer hackings. However, that in no way absolves the Kremlin. The information in the emails had little impact on the election, primarily because it was overwhelmed in the news cycles by Comey reopening the FBI investigation. So what if Donnie Deutch said something off-the-wall goofy. He is a nobody. He might be unhinged. He only represents himself. There are avid Trump supporters who say off-the-wall goofy things. You can see one every time you look in the mirror. Nevertheless, Trump's love fest with Putin, his blind eye toward the substantial and credible evidence of Russian interference in our election and his anticipated nomination of a Putin buddy as Secretary of State do raise legitimate concerns.

NO one has brought forth any credible evidence whatsoever. We have "suppositions" and consensus based on previously observed "similar behaviors"
They are treating the CIA/Russia garbage as fact. There is no verifiable evidence coming directly from the CIA. If fake news ever existed, this is it. The MSM is just making themselves more irrelevant with each passing day.

You don't know if "there is nothing there". You are a fool not to wait for the report of the investigation to be issued. I'll be content to wait a few weeks. It isn't just the CIA. The FBI has similarly concluded that the Kremlin was involved in the computer hackings. You are effectively alleging the greatest conspiracy in the history of the U.S. The big question is, if the investigation concludes that there is strong evidence of Kremlin involvement, will Trump try to block further FBI, Justice Department, CIA and Congressional investigations? You would be making a big mistake if you believe that Republicans in Congress will automatically roll over and allow this to drop if the report concludes that the Russians did attempt to influence the outcome of the election, albeit unsuccessfully. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is already on record as supporting a Senate investigation: www.cbsnews.com/news/mitch-mcconnell-backs-a-congressional-investigation-into-russian-hacking-in-2016-election/

I said that I am content to wait for the investigation's report. How is that being WAYYY out in front of any investigation? It is a fact that both the FBI and the CIA have determined Kremlin involvement in the computer hackings. Their conclusions, not mine. So, what is it exactly that are you wondering about? You seem to be struggling to accuse me of having done something nefarious. Are you capable of plain talk?

NEITHER agency has determined that the "Kremlin" is involved.. they have only stated they BELEIVE that "Russians" were involved. There is a large gap between those assertions. I don't care if they want to investigate it... go ahead. EITHER side, claiming that they KNOW what happened, as of now, is... "Assuming much, and ahead of the facts". Hacking? Who didn't? Using the FACTS discovered to impact the US election? Maybe... Maybe it was the Chinese... or, Romanians.. or, disaffected Americans. There have been ZERO facts put forward about who released the information. WikiLeaks has stated clearly it was NOT the Russians. No one has yet proved them wrong.

Senior Russian officials, not Russian kids in their basements. Do you really, really believe that senior Russian officials have no connection to the Kremlin? Now, what exactly are you accusing me of doing, other than patiently waiting for the FBI and CIA report? And, what do you suspect are my nefarious motives in so doing?

Top US Spy Agency Refuses to Endorse "Russian Hacking Theory" due to lack of evidence. What a misleading bunch of crap! The FBI, CIA and all other intelligence agencies all agree that the Russian government was involved in the hackings. They only differ as to the level of evidence to support the CIA's conclusion that the Russian government's motive was to boost Trump's chances of winning. That is old news. Here is the actual joint statement of the Office of DNI and DHS. Be sure to read the very first sentence carefully: DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE WASHINGTON, DC 20511 October 07, 2016 Joint Statement from the Department of Homeland Security and Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Election Security The U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) is confident that the Russian Government directed the recent compromises of e-mails from US persons and institutions, including from US political organizations. The recent disclosures of alleged hacked e-mails on sites like DCLeaks.com and WikiLeaks and by the Guccifer 2.0 online persona are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process. Such activity is not new to Moscow—the Russians have used similar tactics and techniques across Europe and Eurasia, for example, to influence public opinion there. We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia's senior-most officials could have authorized these activities. Some states have also recently seen scanning and probing of their election-related systems, which in most cases originated from servers operated by a Russian company. However, we are not now in a position to attribute this activity to the Russian Government. The USIC and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) assess that it would be extremely difficult for someone, including a nation-state actor, to alter actual ballot counts or election results by cyber attack or intrusion. This assessment is based on the decentralized nature of our election system in this country and the number of protections state and local election officials have in place. States ensure that voting machines are not connected to the Internet, and there are numerous checks and balances as well as extensive oversight at multiple levels built into our election process. Nevertheless, DHS continues to urge state and local election officials to be vigilant and seek cybersecurity assistance from DHS. A number of states have already done so. DHS is providing several services to state and local election officials to assist in their cybersecurity. These services include cyber “hygiene” scans of Internet-facing systems, risk and vulnerability assessments, information sharing about cyber incidents, and best practices for securing voter registration databases and addressing potential cyber threats. DHS has convened an Election Infrastructure Cybersecurity Working Group with experts across all levels of government to raise awareness of cybersecurity risks potentially affecting election infrastructure and the elections process. Secretary Johnson and DHS officials are working directly with the National Association of Secretaries of State to offer assistance, share information, and provide additional resources to state and local officials. www.dni.gov/index.php/newsroom/press-releases/215-press-releases-2016/1423-joint-dhs-odni-election-security-statement

The same thing you've been doing on this thread since it's beginning: OVERSTATING, or miss-stating facts with the apparent intent to deceive. I have no idea what your motives are. Maybe, you just can't help yourself?

Russia is smart enough to know that when you go hack something, you don't leave fingerprints...they are good enough to do it.
I wonder why NSA hasn't commented on this whole nonsensical episode.
Oh yeah, He's military, not a political hack. Now you know why Clapper called for Admiral Rogers resignation - he wouldn't help sell the Russian hacking falsehood.
Remember, Obama said the leaked emails "were fairly routine stuff"...well, which is it? fairly routine, or election tampering.
Wisconsin recount ends with Trump gaining more votes. LOL. So far, the only thing exposed by the recounts is more Dem voter fraud.
Russians are BAD!

I agree.... confident, are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts We believe Such activity is not new to Moscow—the Russians These are not the kinds of words that should be used to start a war with Russia. Get the FACTS first, or shut up. Do you actually believe that the U.S. Intelligence Community reached these conclusions, with which the FBI substantially agrees, without FACTS? If so, do you realize that it would require an underlying conspiracy involving the 17 agencies of the USIC, the FBI, DHS and the ODNI? That would be the greatest conspiracy, by a thousand-fold, in U.S. history. The statement was based on underlying FACTS, some of which you might learn when the investigation's report is released and some of which you may never know. The Russian Government was either attempting to disrupt the U.S. election (the FBI theory) or it was attempting to throw the election to Trump (the CIA theory). Either would be a direct attack on the U.S. Constitution, and tantamount to an act of war.
