www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV4drumXbA4&ab_channel=NBCSportsEasily, the hardest of the three... because of the competition, and number of horses... Sham had a GREAT trip. No worries all the way around. Big Red had a bad start. Had to run 3-wide around the final turn. But still easily ran down Sham. Secretariat was a FREAK of nature. Not seen since... despite better training methods, and... um... better drugs. I watch a LOT of horse race videos. In most of them, I have to watch 2-3 times, to make sure I know the number, color, and position of the horse I want to follow. In ALL of these replays, I have no trouble seeing which horse is Secretariat. He was, without question, the GREATEST Champion we've seen in ANY sport in the last 50 years. Simply, incredible. Poor ole Shecky Green really died down the stretch!!

Some good choices! I’ll add John Wayne and James Stewart.

Amazing that after 51 years and 151 races, Secretariat still holds the race record for all 3 Triple Crown races.

I went up to a racino about 10 minutes from our house. It has harness racing, slots and you can obviously bet on horse races. I boxed 235 - 2 and 3 came through but 5 didn’t show. I also took Sierra Leone to win which he didn’t by a nostril. Still, it was exciting to be a part of the crowd.

The Sunday Night NBC Mysteries were great…
Colombo, McMillan and Wife and McCloud. Also watched The FBI, Cannon, Mission Impossible and Streets of San Francisco.

Having worked at universities for close to 30 years, college students are quite idealistic and truly think they are going to save the world. I admire their spunk but most will go on to their lives calling which won’t allow the time to continue their world saving crusades.

Our daughter got married this past November. I started my toast with a little joke and said pause for laughter after it. I meant to do it- this guy had just read the teleprompter. Unbelievable.
This election is a catastrophe.

When our daughter lived in Minnesota I toured the Vikings stadium - it was very impressive. Not sure how a kill free menu will go over, I guess everyone will have to grill up their sausages at the tailgates!!

Noon on Fox. Looking forward to seeing the new stable of quarterbacks and WR Jeremiah Smith who may crack the starting line-up as a true freshman. With Egbuka, Carnell Tate, Brandon Innis already on campus that kid must be pretty damn good to threaten to start as a freshman - there’s no doubt he’s going to play a lot.

I’m sad for Houston. This is 2 years in a row they lost their best player to injury. Sucks they lost this way to Duke 😥 I can’t stand Duke. Now they’re saying they’re playing their best basketball. Well, they beat a 13 seed, a 12 seed, Houston without their first team All American for most of the game and next they get NC State who they’ve played a couple times already and a 10 seed. I hope NC State keeps their train rolling but something tells me the refs will make a few calls in Duke’s favor which will be the difference in the game. Duke is my Michigan and Notre Dame in basketball - hope they lose every game.

As well as our resident Bama fan - one is going to go to the Final Four. I’ve seen Clemson play a couple times - they got hosed against Duke. Ohio State beat Bama earlier in the season before they hit the annual Chris Holtmann swoon. At any rate it should be a very good Regional final tomorrow in LA.

I went there as a little kid, and on the way to Yellowstone a few times I rode my bike cross country last year and one the towns we stayed overnight at was Marfa. Had the one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever eaten at a place called The Water Stop. It also had some history because the movie Giant was filmed there. We asked someone at breakfast about the Marfa lights and they said they’re real but we didn’t see them. Just a cute little town that we enjoyed on our ride.
