You feel very strongly,CPA, about supporting our society's gun and gun violence obsession. I had hoped this type BS would be beneath you. Clearly not.

Our society is obsessed with gun violence? The far left, post-constitution crowd and the media might be obsessed, but certainly not society at large. And, most certainly not CPA.
(I didn't say that quite right, because much of the media is far left and post-constitution)

Maybe he will... when he retires from his sweet professor gig.

I'm pretty sure owning a bazooka is NOT legal....
... Unless, you have three daughters and live in a Southern (ie: sane) State.

I have three daughters and own a bazooka...is that legal? Only one daughter for me and a 12ga shotgun was fine...but I'm not judging.

The problem with most of the narrative out there is that there is no correlation between gun ownership, mass shootings and murder rates.
The correlation coefficient from the 2012 data is roughly 0.1, which says there is little, or no, linear correlation.
There is very strong correlation, 0.7+, between certain demographics and murder rates, but we're not allowed to have that "national conversation".
The only correlation between gun ownership and mass shootings is:
big pharma (X) + crazy people (Y) + politicians (Z) and your result is XYZ mass shooters.
Bevo also made this point earlier:
Americans have owned semi and full automatic weapons in large numbers (and in greater %) since the 1930s and it's only been since the 1990s that the scourge of mass spree shootings has occurred. Why?
