Kentucky will have their hands full today, playing without our best player... PJ Washington. He's the ONLY starter with tournament experience.
Meanwhile, Wofford has the new record-holding 3 point shooter...
and, what was Kentucky's BIGGEST weakness all year? 3 point defense. We suck at it.
That's a bad mix.

Wow.... UK is battling well, but.... That 4th foul on Kelvin Johnson was huge! It was a WEAK call.... Several fouls occurred before his, if he did foul. He's a key player for Kentucky. Without PJ, we're not deep.
This game is a toss up with 7:30 to go

I think Kentucky survives.... Thanks to good free throw shooting..
That's been a strength for them all year.
I sure hope PJ is back next week.
All-time 3 point shooter goes O-for.... A lot!

Now, I know I've been in Kentucky too long. I'm actually rooting for Ohio State to beat Houston.
30 years ago, this was UNTHINKABLE.

And then Swofford made him come to Greensboro and apologize in person.

LOVE seeing North Carolina go out! I think the flu might have done them in.
And, hate to say it... but... having Auburn lose Okeefe (sp?) has really opened the door for Kentucky. We've got a MUCH better chance against Auburn now.
But... first.. HOUSTON!
I hate cheering against the city of my birth. But, I will. :-)

Still not sure about this UK team. They have moments when they look really good. Hope they can keep it going. Duke has sure looked beatable... although, they were missing Reddich in the last game.
Sadly, I’m going to miss most of the game. Flying to New Orleans around half time

Flying to New Orleans around half time Auburn is playing the refs vs Kentucky.if Kentucky gets breathed on....its a foul its a foul on Auburn......meanwhile Ive seen Kentucky defenders hit the Auburn players three times on the wrist with no call. Fouls are 9-3 I saw this post, at the airport bar... before I flew to New Orleans, and missed nearly ALL of the second half. I chose not to respond because a) I couldn't really disagree, and b) I didn't want to jinx it. Kentucky also got some pretty favorable calls in the Houston game. Just tonight, I got a chance to watch my recording of the game.. and, was able to see the 2nd half. The Zebras didn't do Kentucky any favors in the 2nd half. The Auburn Bigs could have ALL fouled out, easily... but the refs swallowed the whistles... except for, the first few calls of the half, which ALL went against Kentucky, and let Auburn back in the game. They also failed to call a technical on Pearle for a 2nd illegal substitution attempt... and, failed to call a couple of critical offensive fouls on Auburn during the end of regulation. ALL that said, this was Kentucky's game to win. They gave away WAY more turnovers than they have all year, and Missed a BUNCH of foul shots that they've been making all year. I don't really understand why Nick Richards didn't play in this game. He had 1 minute of game time? Odd. Cats couldn't hit a shot. Auburn had three-pointers bouncing off the front rim that went in. Sometimes, "The Story" just has a way of winning, over the better team. Kentucky is a MUCH better team than Auburn (w/o Okeke)….. but, that didn't matter that night. Such is the way of single-elimination tourneys. They ARE exciting. But, they don't necessarily determine the "better team".

All Xavier had to do was make a foul shot with 1.7 seconds left in the game and they had Texas beat. They also lost in OT to Auburn earlier this year. Of course they managed to lose to SDSU, Missouri and Providence so they lost to some schlubs, as well.
