I'm going to contact this Ian guy and see if he can help me organize the SIX remote controls I'm now using to control my TV's in the man cave. He seems really smart about positioning.

I still feel like we were the best team in 1998 but I got over that I feel that way about 2008... when we finished the year with a great win over the Buckeyes. We lost ONE game, on the road at Texas Tech, on the last play... and, the play before, we had a DB have a GIMME interception go right through his hands. I still haven't gotten over it. If there were championships in 1998 and 2008 I believe the betting favorites would be :
1998 """"""" 1) Tennessee 2) Florida 3) Ohio State
2008 """"""" 1) Florida 2) Southern Cal 3) Utah

A must read for Clemson fans . (It's actually too long to hold my attention )
It helps that the OSU running back was greatly slowed by an ankle injury that took him out of the game for a good part of the 3rd quarter and that the OSU receiver ran the wrong route on the deciding play of the game or JK Dobbins dropped a TD pass in the end zone and a possible TD pass on a perfectly executed screen pass or OSU ran into the punter on 4th and forever and would have received the ball on the 45 yard line. They can analyze and specualte all the want but OSU still gained over 500 yards on Clemson and in a game where one play can be the difference, Ohio State made about 5 or 6 plays that proved fatal to their chances.
Yeah, Ian's stuff can be fairly technical. If Tee doesn't get hurt on Clemson's 4th play on offense - he actually made the catch, got his helmet ripped off (didn't look to me as intentional, just freak occurrence) , maintained control, just couldn't get a foot down. That would have been a 27 yarder. Higgins is out the remainder of the first half. After Higgins goes out, Clemson gains 1st down on 12 plays over 3 drives, including 2 3-and-outs. Clemson was moving the ball until Higgins went out Then next drive, Clemson started relying o n TL and ETN: ETN 15, 11 yds TL 19 PI 15 PF TGT 15 On the 2nd "drive", TL was 1-4 for 16 yards before he ran for the 67 yd TD. That data suggests that the bigger 1st half issue for Clemson was not OSU's defense, but rather Higgins being out of the game. The targeting was certainly instrumental in the comeback, but Clemson's shifting of its weapons was bigger. In elite caliber games where the teams are evenly matched, or very close to it, the team that gets the breaks usually claims the W. This was clearly an instant classic ball game. No one caught ETN from behind on either pass TDs No one caught TL from behind on his run. Muse caught Dobbins from behind. Dobbins drops are offset by Tee's drops. Clemson dropped 2 sure pick 6s...that score then goes to 35-16. What if Clemson is ready and not sleeping on OSU's 3rd down? What if Clemson's center doesn't give OSU a snap infraction on 3rd and 3 making it 3rd and 8 instead? What if Clemson doesn't miss the easy sack that let Fields run for 21 and a 1st down? What if both of Clemson's WRs weren't hurt during the game?

No doubt it was a great game. CPA clearly sees things differently than I do and I get it but non the less it is still painful. The Buckeyes had such a great season and it just leaves me with a lot of what if's. It just feels like this game was taken a way from us. I will get over it but it is not going to happen until after the season is officially over.
Part of the beauty of college football is the passion that goes along with it. That is what makes this game special and that is why it is so much fun to ride the wave of a good streak and why it is painful when a team loses a game that you feel you had in the bag.
I think a lot of my passion has alot to do with the John Cooper era. We had so many great teams and would always lay an egg somewhere in the season. Every year we would come into the GAME and you could see the deer in head lights in Coopers eyes and would lose to ttun. At one point ttun said that ND was a bigger rival than tOSU. Pretty sure that attitude has changed for them. I still feel like we were the best team in 1998 but I got over that one about 18 years ago.
You'll feel better after LSU tears up Clemson and you understand Ohio State wouldn't have stood a chance either Just feel lucky that LSU got the easy pass to the MCFP championship. Vegas has the bayou boys as a big underdog for a good reason. They can't play defense.

While LSU has played a tough schedule, they haven't played any team like OSU or Clemson. OK defense was ranked 64. Clemson ranked 1. I'd be shocked if either D was able to shutdown the opposing O.

I'm ALL IN on the Tigers!!! naturally, a can't lose bet Reminds me of the first Ohio State game I ever attended - 1974 vs Oregon State. My high school football coach played at Ohio State and he got tickets for our team to go to a game. So we rode up on a school bus and when we got there I bought a Columbus Dispatch newspaper - the headline read 'OSU Victory Guaranteed'. Back then Oregon State was horrible and I remember thinking, that's pretty cocky to publish that headline and then I realized, both teams were OSU. Buckeyes won 52-10 if I recall.
Before the game our coach had us looking for people who wanted to buy tickets - he had about 15 extra tickets and with the money he made he took us out to dinner after the game.

Auburn and Florida defense aren't half bad either LSU is extremely battle tested. It should be a great game.

I'm not disputing the call but probably the play with the greatest impact from OSU's perspective was Wade's targeting penalty and subsequent ejection. Lawrence's long TD run occurred shortly after that and it was right where Wade would have been. HUGE IMPACT!
Nice to see that Wade will be returning next year.
