I thought the field was loaded with RBs this year, so it was hard to distinguish.... I had Deshaun Watson and Henry neck and neck, but I think Henry played better in his championship game Fournette and Dalvin Cook look to be up there next year It's all marketing.
ESPN noted that Henry "blasts through gaping holes" while "Watson bores you with his completions and runs for 3rd down conversions."
Maybe some folks consider blasting thru gaping holes a cooler Heisman attribute?
Versus UF common opponent:
Fournette 31/180/2 Cook 26/183/2 Henry 44/189/1
Gary Danielson says you can't just pad your stats at the end of the game.
Note: Above rule does not apply to Bama.

Perhaps I'm unaware. What all-time record did Watson set this year? he's also a sophomore.... Which, I think weighs in the minds of some voters.

12 Heismans total for the SEC... Out of how many years? How many of those 12 came after CBS/ESPN took over the megaphone? How many were won when The SEC was segregated? Great, let's go back and fight the War Between the States again.

Henry is a deserving winner, but his candidacy was so heavily pushed by ESPN that it was practically a foregone conclusion four weeks prior to the end of the year.
A Heisman winner from Alabama (odds on favorite to win the NC this year) is good for business. Cui bono? Follow the money.
ESPN has huge sway (they sponsor the Heisman, broadcast the event and will broadcast the CFP). It’s not a level playing field, and the credibility of the Heisman suffers as a result.
Everybody hates the Heisman, until their team wins one.

Reading what people have to say, I think this is the most important thing in the history of the world. I didn't bother to watch it which should tell you how much emotional investment I have for this. It will be nice since Bama will win the Heisman every year now that have two.

Was there a glitch in the matrix last year that let Mariota claim the trophy?
The SEC is NOT over-represented in the Heisman Trophy winners list. ESPN promotes FOOTBALL... they show games from LOTS of conferences. I don't buy any argument that they are advantage by having a winner from Alabama.
