For SEC basketball. I was surprised to see injured Baylor get the #1 seed over Auburn. And giving Tennessee a 3 seed was a slap in the face. The SEC played good bball this year. They have very athletic teams and some good coaching.
I think Kenucky got a break, getting in Baylor's bracket. The Bears were incredible at the beginning of the season but have lost two of their biggest stars. They're not the same team now.

Maybe. We’ll see where they all end up.
Tennessee won fairly easily. They probably deserved to be seeded higher than Kentucky.

I was correct in predicting Baylor’s demise.
It’s a shame. They were so good early in the year. Maybe, the best.
Chattanooga did everything BUT beat Illinois. They really choked.

Well, Kentucky goes down, Tennessee goes down,lSU goes down and Vermont beats Arkansas if it could've made some free throws. These opponents don't seem to be intimated by SEC hype......like the past bowl season in which the hyped league goes 1 for 4 vs second class 'G5' teams.

What are you even talking about? They aren't SEC? No one fears the SEC in BBall. Been a bad day for the B1G too...

...OH MY and now highly seeded Auburn goes down with a whimper. In mythical sports championships, voting and opinions, hype is very useful. When you have to 'play' it ,sometimes, doesn't help much.
Those Teams got high seedings, Bevo, and high season mythical rankings. Anyway, just having a little SEC fun.
This, all inclusive, college sports championship (like all the others cept one) demonstrates why playing is light years better than voting. Sorry to mention that again but ...

My final four would have been Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas.
Hard for big time SEC to get up to play for these double digit seeds.

My final four would have been Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. Hard for big time SEC to get up to play for these double digit seeds. not only that, the SEC kids were mentally drained from all the academic demands.....term paper research, studying for exams, reading text books all night etc., and also those teams just beat each other up during the regular season and ran out of juice, ....kind of like what happened when they lost to 3 G5 teams in bowls last post season. If only Vermont made free throws there would be none left.

College basketball is now not only virtually positionless, but it is virtually leagueless.
Leagues don't seem matter at all, it's all about matchups and who is playing well when it matters & late luck. UNC sucked all year, but not now.
Talking league strength seems to be a waste of time.

It's a fun tournament. As always, I agree with you that "Playing is better than voting". I just don't want the "playing" to take up a third of the season. If football were to spend the SAME amount of time to hold a playoff to determine a Champion, it would be limited to 8 teams. I still think that's where we're headed. Even the 12-team proposal seems to have withered away.

Talking league strength seems to be a waste of time. I think the Big 12 might disagree.
