If only it were that easy. It is literally impossible for two teams to play the same schedule. If the schedules are "essentially equivalent", then the committee will decide based upon other criteria, like Conference Championships, and the "eye test"... which, is nothing more than the committee's politically correct way of saying they DO what you want: Ie, they consider how easily a team defeated it's foes. They do not want to codify something that encourages poor sportsmanship, leading teams to run up the score on every opponent. But, they're not blind. They can, and do factor in MOV, and every coach out there knows it. 1. The first thing I said was that it was a hypothetical. 2. Both teams were undefeated, and thus conference champions. 3. I’m not sure what the “eye test” means. Better looking uniforms? 4. So, it really boils down to MOV, and your silly notion about sportsmanship. What if the margins of victory were the same until the final few seconds of each game for each team. One team ran off the final minute in victory formation while the other team kept its starters in and successfully scored in the final seconds, increasing a 50-point lead to 57? In any event, you have successfully exposed the reason why MOV should be balanced against SOS. Congratulations. You are finally beginning to catch on. Even hypotheticals need to be remotely possible to be interesting. You don't know what the "eye test" means? Right. That makes you dumber than all FBS coaches. Your example shows only why MOV in and of itself is not useful. It can be artificially manipulated. Why am I not surprised that you care zero about sportsmanship ? I have no need to "catch on". I have always fully understood how it works. You're the only one who continually shows you have no clue. Well, to be fair, I think you do.... You just love to repeat nonsense. Heaven only knows why? But it sure gets old.

I have always fully understood how it works. You're the only one who continually shows you have no clue. Well, to be fair, I think you do.... You just love to repeat nonsense. Heaven only knows why? But it sure gets old. 1. It doesn't make any difference whether or not you consider a hypothetical to be interesting. 2. I don't know what you meant by the "eye test". Why are you seemingly incapable of engaging in a simple conversation without launching a personal attack? 3. That is all-time dumb. I never once suggested anything other than using MOV in appropriate balance with SOS. 4. I admit to being in the Steve Spurrier camp when it comes to "that's the way we play the game". College football players are supposed to be young adults, not whiny momma's boys. They should be expected to be able to psychologically handle a thorough pasting. How many scraps of business do you leave for your competitors because you don't want to hurt their feelings? 5. I thought that you had caught on as to why MOV should be evaluated as a factor in appropriate balance with SOS. In so doing, I obviously gave you too much credit. My bad.

Why are you seemingly incapable of engaging in a simple conversation without launching a personal attack.... 3. That is all-time dumb. Seems to be contagious.

I didn’t accuse you of being dumb, but rather that what you said was dumb. Smart people are perfectly capable of saying dumb things. Donald Trump, for example, on any given day. However, you did attack me personally, i.e., “That makes you dumber than all FBS coaches.”

That's not an attack, that's just a statement of implied fact.

You also claim that I am incapable of comprehending. These are personal attacks, and you can’t weasel your way out of it. It appears to be inherent in your nature. Personal attacks are a sign of weakness that you tend to resort to when you are incapable of discussing the merits of issues.

You didn’t say that I said something dumb. You said that I am dumb. I said you were dumber than all the FBS coaches IF you don't understand what the "eye test" is... To be fair, I also said I don't believe that you don't know.

To be fair, I also said I don't believe that you don't know. There was no IF in or following, “That makes you dumber than all FBS coaches.” You presume, as is your habit, to know what all 128 FBS coaches think (and what I think). The truth is, you don’t have any idea how the various FBS coaches would define “eye test”. For all we know, they might have 128 differing perspectives. What is obvious is that either you have no idea what “eye test” is, or you are afraid to tell us your definition.

I was thinking that it was 129 or 130. Sometimes a school has as transitional year.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that if you or a loved one have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
