I love it
what a joke the committee is for coming out and trying to defend the UCF ranking
4 years into playoff territory, and it is very obvious the field needs to expand to 8 teams for the college football postseason
Get rid of the committee too...let's get real rankings back with some auto-qualifiers
Ohio State should have been in, UCF should have been in. ALL DESERVING TEAMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN
UCF making a giant PR move out of this is great for the sport

UCF has every right to claim a National Championship. I'll be happy to give them credit for one. It doesn't cost that much to add another one.
Other than UCF, ALL "deserving teams" WERE in the playoff.
It's amusing how seriously people take this. It's just a bunch of college kids, playing a game that is dying on the vine. It's not the end of civilization here.

As an Alabama fan I say more power to the UCF Folks. As for DK I don't think any less of him telling another lie.

Actually, the NCAA, by virtue of their continued refusal to conduct an FBS playoff like they do for any other sport, including the other levels of football, has zero jurisdiction over whether a school claims a division one championship.
I claim 2015, 2016 and 2017 for Clemson, based on the historical operation of Coaches and AP polls.

The Ivy league might even have more pretend national titles than the SEC ! Heck, Princeton and Yale have about 55 of those things while the entire SEC can claim about 42 or so.
Either way the 150 year tradition of mythical national championships continues for major college football. This CFP garbage is just the latest version.

If you go undefeated and are left out....hey, why not??
2004 Auburn? Penn State 1994? Hang a banner
Funny thing with Auburn is that they added a bunch of fake championships a few years ago, including 1993 snd 1983
In '93 they went undefeated, but were on probation. So according to Auburn, you can cheat and still win National Championships

That was the year I STOPPED taking College Football seriously. It was an enlightening time.

It seems to me that UCF should have been eliminated from a championship opportunity by actually losing an elimination playoff game. UCF should never ever have been eliminated from a championship opportunity by losing a conference room vote. Conference room eliminations are not 'sport'. Have I ever mentioned that playing has more virtue than voting ?

Have I ever mentioned that playing has more virtue than voting ? For those saying, “UCF should be in the CFP.” Huge difference between Group of 5/Power-5 schedule. Below are TCU’s (left) and Utah’s (right) W-L records during transition. Look at records when playing against the MWC. Then, look when they joined the Power-5. Very average. TCU:2008 MWC 11-2 2009 MWC 12-1 2010 MWC 13-0 2011 MWC 11-2 2012 B12 7-6 2013 B12 4-8 UTAH:2008 MWC 13-0 2009 MWC 10-3 2010 MWC 10-3 2011 P12 8-5 2012 P12 5-7 2013 P12 5-7 On the other hand, UCF is undefeated against Bama, Auburn and UGA. Mighty Notre Dame is 9-7 against current AAC teams over the last 10 years. And they never played UCF, Houston or Memphis.

Certainly there are some deserving teams out there but I will give Bama some credit as they certainly made the most of their opportunity. They looked really good. Glad I chose to stay true to form and tune out of ESPN for the last 10 days. I am pretty certain that had I tuned in some of the idiiots like David Pollack would have tainted my view of the SEC. I am actually really looking forward to the game. I have not heard any analysis but the UGA rushing game vs the BAMA defense will be very interesting. Also the UGA QB was far better than I expected against OK. It will be interesting to see if he gets time like he had against OK. On the other side, BAMA reminds me a lot of Ohio State. A very fast and physical defense when they are on. Hurts also has a lot of similarities to Barrett. I don't think either excel at reading pass coverages and making passes in tight windows but they do good things with their legs and limit mistakes.
