This should be one of the more entertaining SEC matchups we've seen this season. Arkansas came in and was stonewalled. It took Georgia a little bit of time to warm up against Auburn, but that was on the road.
Is Kentucky really a threat? or do they get stomped on by the Dawgs?

I think Kentucky CAN win, but… they’re going to need a lot of good fortune.
UGA has exactly what gives UK problems; super depth of elite athletes.
I expect a close game in the first half. Maybe even, a UK lead. But in the end, I think UGA pulls out a win.
But, I’ll be rooting for the CATS!!

Kirby lands Clem TE target Delp. Kirby has now stacked 3 5* TEs in consecutive classes.
Their, OSU and ALA's recruiting (and now potentially OU and Oregon) is on another level than Clemson now simply because they take numbers.

It opened at UK +26.5 It's since moved down all the way to UK +22.5 If I was going to bet it, and I might... I'd bet the moneyline... on a Kentucky win. 12-1 A $10 bet makes the game a lot more interesting. Kentucky does things ALL or NOTHING. I don't see them "keeping it close". They'll either sneek out win, or get blown out. When they start to sense that they can't win? They'll quit.

If I was still wagering on CF I'd take Mark Stoops + 22.5. I think this guy is a great HC and if he only had the recruiting base and power of a UGA,Fla,Bama, LSU etc.....who knows what UK football could become.

All I know is: He's been here 8 years, and UK has continued to improve. A bit like when Bear Bryant started here. Cats were 2-8 the year before Bear came. Hadn't had a winning season in 4 years. Bear stayed 8 years. Kentucky had a winning record EVERY year he was here. In his last three years, Kentucky was 28-8, and played (for the ONLY TIME EVER) in the Orange, Sugar, and Cotton Bowls. Of course, coaching at such a crappy school with no recruiting base hurt his lifetime Win %. So badly, some people still doubt is greatness as a coach.

A little trivia : When Bear was at UK his coaching time overlapped the great Bob Neyland (Tenn) by seven seasons. Bryant's record vs Neyland.....zero for seven tries. " Neyland was a better coach than me" - Paul Bryant

The popular , perception driven debate as to the SEC's greatest football coach focuses on Saban vs Bryant. Neyland has been lost to time. However, a little research yields :
Career Record """""""""""""" Neyland - .829 (173-31-12).......ranks 9th best among majors Bryant - .780 (323-85-17).......ranks 20th best among majors
SEC Record """"""""""" Neyland - .827 (105-18-10) Bryant - .764 (159-46-9)
Record vs non conference """""""""""""""""""""""" Neyland - .831 (68-13-2) Bryant - .797 (163-39-7)
Head to head """""""""""" Neyland - 5-0-2 vs Bryant Bryant - 0-5-2 vs Neyland
lots of hype driven mythology in CF with huge doses of it applied to Bear and Saban

Neyland, a good Texas born man, was a phenomenal coach, no question. But, his win% is inflated by the fact that he only coached at ONE school: Tennessee. The Vols were a good program before he arrived. He turned them into a GREAT program. Bear took a different path. He coached at FOUR schools. ALL of them were BAD when he arrived, GREAT when he was there, and then BAD again when he left. Maryland was 1-7 the year before Bear arrived... he got them to 6-2-1. The year after he left, they were 3-6. Kentucky was 2-8 the year before Bear arrived, he got them to 7-3 in his 1st year. They were 8-3 and played in their 1st ever bowl game in year 2. They had winning seasons EVERY year he was there, with spots in the Orange, Sugar and Cotton Bows. After he left? A 60 year epic legacy of failure. Texas A&M was 3-6, and 4-5 in the two years before Bear got there. They went 1-9 in his first year. THAT can really hurt a average win%. They went 7-2-1 in Bears' second year and were UNDEFEATED in his third. They were 8-3 in Bear's last year. After he left? It was TEN YEARS before the Aggies had a winning season. Alabama was 2-7-1 two years in a row before Bear arrived. They hadn't had a winning season in 5 years. They went 7-2-2 in his 1st year, 8-1-2 in his 2nd, and went 11-0 and were awarded National Champions in his 3rd year. Even at Bama, after Bear left, it was 5 years before they had another 10-win season. I mean, c'mon Hen... THAT's a pretty impressive record. When a coach turns around FOUR losing programs, goes on to win more games than any coach ever, and wins 6 National Titles in the process, it seems a little petty to knock him because he's "only 20th" all-time in win %. At least, that's my opinion. Bear was the "working man's" coach. Neyland was elitist. All of Bear's games against Neyland came when he was at Kentucky. A young coach, turning around a losing program, playing against One of, if not THE greatest coaches of the time, at the peak of his career, coaching a powerhouse program. THAT, is how you want to judge the totality of their careers? Bob Dodd at Georgia Tech had a 50% win rate against Neyland. Does that mean they were equals as coaches?

About those Bear vs Neyland games..... Take a look at the scores. These were some EPIC battles. (AWAY) 1952/11/22 Kentucky 14 - Tennessee 14 T (HOME) 1951/11/24 Kentucky 0 - Tennessee 28 L (AWAY) 1950/11/25 Kentucky 0 - Tennessee 7 L (HOME) 1949/11/19 Kentucky 0 - Tennessee 6 L (AWAY) 1948/11/20 Kentucky 0 - Tennessee 0 T (HOME) 1947/11/22 Kentucky 6 - Tennessee 13 L (AWAY) 1946/11/23 Kentucky 0 - Tennessee 7 L Before Bear got to Kentucky, the Cats had beaten Tenn ONCE, in 20 years. Many of the game were blowouts.

Some good points, Bevo.... All those Bear, so called, national titles' were 100 % mythical and two of those were awarded to him even though he couldn't even win his bowl games. !!!!.... That's championship bullshit at its most absurd level. Can you disagree with that ?....and every one of Bear's pretend NCs was shared with one or more other teams. Commonly found quote from Bryant was that'" Neyland was a better coach than me and everything I learned, I got from him" I know Bryant was great but still believe Neyland was greater. And remember, at Kentucky, Bear was 0-5-2 vs Neyland yet 60-18-4 vs everybody else., so can't use UK as an excuse.
Neyland trivia :
His teams recorded 109 shutouts in the 216 games he coached....over 1/2 !! He had an engineering degree from MIT and helped design and engineer Neyland stadium. Also, Neyland's Tennessee years were in 3 different stints (1926-1934) (1936-1940) and (1946-1952)...so he didn't exactly have unbroken fluidity at one place.
