I'm not really a hoops fan (at any level) but isn't this championship a bunch of fun ? It's because PLAYING is light years better than VOTING to determine championships. Every NCAA team sport championship is decided this way. The final 4,2, and champ is decided by PLAYING. The only college team sport (FBS level) that is NOT an NCAA championship has it's final 4 decided by VOTING. No good.

Get these over hyped SEC teams out of here Ya, the SEC has been super-overrated Gotta feel bad for Alabama though....such high expectations and such a great regular season. I was hoping they would at least reach the final four Houston is getting blown out by Miami....similar situation. So many weeks ranked #1
yep, PLAYING sometimes debunks voted perceptions

Sometimes... and then, sometimes, in a one & done tourney, one team just gets super lucky

At least 'playing' allows luck to happen. 'Voting' denies opportunities for luck for many deserving teams.

At least 'playing' allows luck to happen. 'Voting' denies opportunities for luck for many deserving teams.' Luck is when preparation meets opportunity....and in the bullshit 'voted, mythical system of the Dr. Pepper football championship opportunity is denied...denied by opinions. No good.

Equal access to the championship playoff has allowed for a lot of parity in college basketball.
Maybe this will happen in college football as well?

The biggest strength of the March Madness tournament is that it's a full fledged NATIONAL tournament College football has sorely lacked this for so long, that we see PAC12 schools leaving for the Big 10 because the conference has suffered from being locked out of the playoff for so long This pseudo-playoff, highly regional invitational has hurt the sport

the 12 team format will be a quantum leap toward that access and opportunity, but still too exclusionary to be fully non -mythical IMO.

Equal access to the championship playoff has allowed for a lot of parity in college basketball. Maybe this will happen in college football as well? Actually, I think the transfer portal has had a huge impact on the so called, mid-majors and non-blue blood programs. Kids aren't going to sit on a long bench when they know they can go elsewhere and play. Kansas State has 13 players who started their college careers at other programs. There are many, many others who left schools and found playing time. With only 5 starters it's easier to see the impact than with college football. Players with chips on their shoulders, who have gone through adversity and had an couple years to mature can play with a group of highly touted freshmen who have one eye on heading to the NBA after one year of college ball.
