Difficult to say Saban wouldn’t be among the best. Dabo is making a bid as well.

Difficult to say Saban wouldn’t be among the best. Dabo is making a bid as well. Knute Rockne coached 122 games at Notre Dame and had a record of 105-12-5 for .881 winning percentage, the top coaching percentage in college football history. With Clemson defeating NCST last Saturday, Dabo Swinney is 107-15 his last 122 games for a .877 percentage.

Dabo is certainly on pace to be at the top of the list. He has the Tiger Machine ROLLING right now. I think Clemson has as good a chance as anyone to win it all, again this year.
Did you see all the Nat Champ banners hanging in Minnesota from 1933, 1933, 1936 etc.... apparently, the Gophers had a good coach during the Great Depression. Maybe Hen can remember him ?

Clemson is awfully young this year overall. 49 freshman and sophomores....age can be a key factor in playoff situations.

Minnesota's strongest years seem to be from the Bernie Bierman era of 1932-1941 including unbeaten seasons in 34, 35, 40, 41. Bierman came back to coach Minn from 45-49 but was only 'good' not great. The horror of WWII took much out of him. He was also pretty successful at Tulane ( 36-11-2 )

In career difficulty to beat ( WP) he's currently top 15 among major CF HCs and top 55 among all CF HCs. Considering the thousands of guys that have coached that's pretty lofty The GOAT myth is just kind of silly.Rockne would be the major GOAT and Kehres the all CF GOAT> Dabo is, indeed, making a run at all time most difficult to beat major HC. Pretty exciting CPA !
