It's not supposed to have predictable value. Not talking predictions, talking FACTS. Actual games played are simply fact. Fact beats guessing, speculation, imagery, hype, hunches perception etc etc... all that mythical stuff....in sports and real life. Besides not all these Bama games were in 1915. and something to think about - will Alabama's games of today still count in 2091 although they will be 70 years old ? Of course they will I'm not disagreeing with you. All the games count. But you have to have perspective as well. Texas is 7-1-1 versus Bama. 3 of those were played ~100+ years ago. Outside of Bama's 1 win in 2010, all the rest are at least 40 years old.

Mack Brown returned to his senses before our football program returned to respectability.

Question : In what future decade will Alabama's current dominance be rendered 'meaningless' ? A) 2060s B) 2070s C) 2080s D) 2090s E) sometime beyond I learn so many interesting things around here about CF. For example, per this thread......'A football game result in 1915 probably isn't useful for predicting FB games 106 years later'. That's genuinely enlightening. I never considered that. Gaining new knowledge , especially at this age, is so satisfying and rewarding. So, thanks, fellers.

Still a pretty big questions mark in my mind if the SEC is all that powerful or is it just perception. Since the start of the BCS the SEC has gotten the benefit of the doubt every single time when considering who gets in the BCS\CFP with the exception of maybe 2004. Why did LSU Alabama get a rematch when tOSU ttun did not? Why did Bama get in over tOSU when the lost the last game of the season badly and did not even get to the SEC CCG? Just look at it again this year. 3 of the top 6 teams are SEC teams.
Remember when Ole Miss beat Bama. Everyone gave credit that Ole Miss was a very good team and not that Bama was bad. When tOSU lost to Iowa the pundits harped on that one all the way through the selection process.
Until they get an unbiased method for the selection process then I am with Hen that the CFP end result is biased and rigged. Hard to trust Humans that get the majority information from the source that sponsors their program to make decision on who is more deserving. Instead of evaluating the season on the accomplishments throughout the year, they now resort to the so called eye test. What a farce.

Yes the NFL talent scouts should decide the CF final four in the Invitational......Bevo logic makes perfect sense to me and should to you too, AJ. It should make no difference if a team cannot even win it's division within a conference as long as recruiting rankings and NFL scouts determine that it's the most 'talented'. There really isn't a need to play the regular season...just appoint the 4 teams believed to be the most 'talented' directly into the ESPN Invitational.....nothing to it. All team sports should adopt the Bevo doctrine of championship determination.

When Bama beat Ohio State like a rented mule earlier this year was that power or perception? Last year Bama was a great team and we were without 2 starting DL and lost our RB after play 1. That being said you put a beating on us. In 2014 Bama was all everything and Zeke looked like he was up against the pee wee all stars. Look at the teams that got selected to play vs the computers over history and I think you may understand my point.

You mean, like that Bama team that didn't when their division but went on to beat two of the best teams in the country to win the National Title? I don't think the committee has made any blatant mistakes. Have their been some arguable choices? Yes.. But, none have been blatant. The B1G benefitted from at least one of these.

Sure the B10 did too .Makes no difference what league benefits. In true sport you don't fill 4 team, so called, 'playoffs' based on perceived talent. Actual standings should have more value...but then again big time , so called, college football has always had an exhibition style post season vs a championship post season. It's TV driven show business.
